nice mate. very nice.
what did you have done ? and who did the work ?
Vast difference :D
all work has been done by lindop motorsport (recommended)
what has been done:
New water pump (old one is worn & leaking past the bearing) - £110 inc
Cold side engine mount (split in half) - £50 inc
Water level sensor (snapped when swapping over to new polished housing) - £35 inc
Extra labour & materials required to fit Intercooler & rad (including making brackets etc) - £300 inc
battery in the boot (cost is £215 to relocate including labour, battery box, wiring & connectors)
costs:
· Engine rebuild £2500
· Streetporting £ 235
· APEXi ECU £ 588
· Air pump removal inc. blanking plates,
· alloy pulley & belts £ 177
· Fit polished parts £ 0
· GReddy Elbow £ 0 (Exchange for old intake parts)
· Collection of Vehicle £ 0
· Total agreed for above £3500
Additional work would bring the total to either:
· £4210 all inc for the battery in the boot
Then also needed a new battery for £60
Now that looks fantastic! im glad it all turned out well for you in the end :Thumbs-up i\'ll keep my eyes and ears out when im up in newcastle (Wich is happening quite often lately)
You still running twins? how do you find the pickup now with a street ported motor? or i guess your still under runin orders :Laugh
ahhh looking rather tidy under there!
ooooo - looks very nice! ;)
hope mine turns out that good!
(duff replacement oil cooler has put back the completion date again. sigh)
Absolutly love it, getting very similar done to mine. !!
Looks very nice steven, very bling.
Reckon you will be grinning from ear to ear:Thumbs-up
Very bling mate !!!!
nice bud bet your well happy with that :)
Looking class bud!
Im going to have to get busy with the samco hose too. Not that it\'ll ever be that clean tho!
Chris
p.s. did you travel down the M6? Seemed a canny drive to me (better that the crappy A1 anywho)!
thanks people i didnt think i would get such a good feed back!
yeah i am still under runin orders (boohoo)
yeah mate i went along the A6 just stuck at 60mph tho since the first time of runin was a long one, hit 70 every now and then (using no boost) they said i can start to use a lil boost around 300 miles run in!
i got lost a lil bit on the way back like only went 2 mile or so in the wrong direction as i didnt have a sat nav or anything!
Yup, its the run-in that\'ll be the hardest with no boost allowed!
Im gonna take advantage of the sunny weather (hopefully) this weekend and get some motorway miles on mine :)
Chris
i think i might just pop down the motorway today for 50 miles and back = 100 miles on the car then i only really have to do 500 mile\'s more, so just need 5 good days!
:Thumbs-upwow it looks ace!!
loving the strut bar looks like it actually does something over the stock one
looks very nice now mate :D, bet your well chuffed. what kind of boost are you going to be running when you go to get it mapped and what kind of expected power??
get your self to the RSCS to do a few more miles
http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47722
also on JNE i think
not to sure about the boost mate, going to sort it all out when i go down to get it mapped up but it should have around 290+bhp at the wheels!
i could get more if i got bigger injectors and fuel pump but i am skint at the moment!
i would love to go to that show but i got to sort stuff out that weekend for other things :(
Nice one Steven, roll on 1000 miles...
yeah i know lol i have already done 340 miles haha!
ok cool, are you going to get the fueling mods in the future??
well may be i will see you at one of the JNE meets later in the year
looks spot on!!
loving the polished engine bits mate...look awesome :D

i will defo be at the next JNE meet so if your going i will see you there!
they do look good dont there Jit, thanks again for the parts!
Looking good steven, jealous now! How does that car idle with the new porting and air pump removal?
Nice SMIC mind, bit of longer piping and that would make a great FMIC, would be great when you do get the fuel upgrades.
How much are they charing you to get the mapping set up on th PFC? Thinking of getting one as my next major mod and looking at costs etc.

lol thanks mate! it idle\'s much better then what it did! it is so smooth like! i dont know if i would of wanted a front mount since i will be keeping the twins for a while now! temps stay very cool tho, has not gone over 98 degs. as for the price am not to sure as it was in with buying it with the rebuild!

nah not yet mate, will post up when tey say on JNE would be good to get a little group of rx7\'s there!
sounds a plan, just need mine back on the road now. Clutch is still buggered!
bit **** mate! though you had gone up to XO to get it fixed?
I did, they\'ve had it for nearly 2 weeks. Took them 4 days after i dropped it off for them to even look at it and there was a bit of a mix up where i thought they were gonna drop out the box and make sure of the prob and they thought i was gonna order the part and then they were gonna drop out the box.
Not a happy bunny as they\'ve had the car for nearly 2 weeks and so far they have only looked through the inspection plate.
Turns out that the retaining clip that hold the release bearing inplace had either come off or broken so i need to replace that, i\'ve a feeling that it had popped off and it was not fitted correctly but XO recon it has broken.
So it looks like i\'m gonna have to fork out more money to get them to install a new one.
Was up there last weekend guv, dropping my bros car off for a quote. Thought that was your \'7 sat outside.
Hope it gets sorted for you soon.
Chris
would be good to have a few rex\'s at the next JNE meet :D
if the clip has come off you can just bend it back into shape but make it a tiny bit smaller to make a tighter fit
Thats good advice Karl, only prob is that the clip should not come off due to the design, see this vid on youtube: http://http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uPCi4RpGQCU (http://http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uPCi4RpGQCU)
So looking at the vid i think it has not been fitted correctly and the garage is at fault. I\'m happy to help them change the clutch over but i\'m buggered if i\'m forking out £300 to fix a problem they caused
