Title: Help...urgently!!!!
Post by: Papercup on April 20, 2008, 01:44:35 PM
driving across france in my rx7, went down a very bumpy road and parked in a layby, car wouldn\'t start but upon closer examination the symptom\'s are: 1: car will not start off the key, no starter motor, but will bumpstart fine and runs normally.
      2: no windscreen wipers/washers
      3: no heater control
4: abs light on on dash
any ideas? if it\'s a fuse blown does anyone know which one?
            thanks

Could be the ground plug on the starter motor too, mine dislodged itself after a bumpy ride, plug it back in if it\'s dangling.

Look at the main fuses next to your battery, assuming you battery is still in engine bay. May be the 120A fuse.

The starter motor is under the car attatched to the gearbox, passenger side.

You\'ll need to jack it up on one side dude, wouldn\'t like to be under the car with one of those scissor jacks though, try and find the equivalent of halfords for a jack? They may have your fuse too.

Yes, I tried jacking it up on the scissor but got scared when I got underneath it. Starter motor looked ok but I didn\'t want to get too close as I could see the jack was precarious.

Maybe the fuse will fix it all? Found a Mazda dealer about two minutes away from this hotel and they open at 8am tomorrow. Hopefully they have that fuse and all will be good.

Anyone know what fuse B2 does? Can the 4 symptoms above be attributed to it?

Cheers

Andy

Awesome result, glad to hear that even in a foreign country you can still repair a rotary!
(that situation would scare the crap out of me!)
