Title: Fueling advice
Post by: m4drx on April 19, 2008, 04:23:54 PM
Hi all,

can anyone advise about what kind of boost i can run before i need to uprate the injectors as im getting mixed views and i would appreciate a few more opnions.

I want to get the car mapped with the below:

Stock Downpipe - Full Decat pipe - Nurspec R Back Box
Apexi PFC
Blitz Induction
uprated clutch & RZ Diff
Greddy E-01 Boost controller

and to add the below prior to mapping;

BNR34 Fuel Pump - Skyline R34
Aeromotive or similar Rising rate fuel pressure regulator
Trust large SMIC

Aim is to run 0.9 bar boost with a respectable yet safe power level.

I have been advised by many that this will be fine and the stock injectors will be fine but what do you think?

thanks in advance

Not sure if the BNR34 fuel pump is any upgrade, if it is , it cant be that much difference....

I\'m running 0.9 bar on mine.
Straight through exhaust, air filters, PFC, Walbro 255 fuel pump, V mount, fuel pressure regulator. Mapped by WGT.

Hope that helps.

Seeing about 85% duty with 292bhp @ flywheel but I was severely restricted by an exhaust with a baffle which has been changed now, so I\'m due a remap.
(if you saw my other post about not starting, that\'s my brother\'s car)

For 0.9 bar I would say you would definitely need to uprate the injectors.  I was seeing 99% Inj Duty at 0.8bar - that was with similar mods to you as well.  Now I have the extra injectors I run 0.9 bar and see 70% duty.  Sounds \'safe\' to me  :)

You mention you want to be running it safely - so go for injectors, without them you would be running in the 90% range and that is not safe.

Im expecting in the region of 90% duty but hopefully not for too long.

Its boosting consistant 0.85 bar boost right now and only reaching 82-85% duty so hopefully wont need much more.

I dont want additional injectors as its more to go wrong along with the locating of them, fitting and additional inj controller.

I dont want 850s in the primarys due to the adverse effect on fuel consumption.

I do want to buy and install this and i have been trying to decide on whether to buy it all week ; http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/extremefuelfd.htm

Problem with that is the complications of fitting and also the ACV needing to be removed then blanking plates etc etc.
