Hi, just installed my Alpine HU in the car this afternoon but not sure where to position the cd changer.
I\'ve attatched a couple of pics of where I think would be a good location as it avoids water pouring in when you open the tailgate in pouring rain.
Any suggestions and pics of your installs would be very welcome.
First pic shows the location and the second shown what\'s beneath the carpet at that point, would it be ok to put screws directly into the metal in this location?
TIA
under the passenger seat with the slot poking backwards. easy to change CD\'s and out of the way. also keeps the additional weight low in the car :)
Mine\'s mounted to the left of the boot, following the angle of the boot trim, just about where the bottom left corner of your first photo is. That way I can exploit the extremely generous load area offered by folding the incredibly practical and accomodating rear seats flat.
Actually, that was sarcasm! but if you put it where you show there, you won\'t be able to use the boot if you have to, and you can actually fit surprisingly large stuff in there if you take the strut brace off. Not that that\'s especially practical by any means, but it may be worth bearing in mind

Wow, I didn\'t even consider how it would affect the car\'s centre of gravity, I might remove the metal case to reduce weight, LOL.
Cheers for the advice, Nik, your right I forgot about the way it would end up being in the middle of nowhere when the seat is folded down, even though I took the photo of it that way:Hammer .
Thanks for the help.
mine is in the nearside right corner and laying on its side and is secured in the boot by a large sized velco sticker does the job well and doesnt move also it does not take up to much space as can still get two sets of golf clubs in the boot
