On the dash just to the left of the fuel gauge it looks like i can fit a switch. Can I? Does anyone have a spare one?

Do you mean the one thats on the opposite side of the retractable light button?  If so this is where you normally find the cruise control button combo.  Mainly in USDM market but seen a handful of JDM ones with it too.

Cruise control was also fitted as standard on UK models :D

Yes that is the space.

Cruise control eh? I would like to relocate my rear demister button there. So if there is a button that is already the right shape and size and available that would be good.

Relocating would enable me to do something interesting with the center switch area…

I did find one of the cruise control switches.

I would like to give Philo first refusal on it as he did start this thread.  If interested drop me an email.

I would assume for a bodywork specialist or someone a bit handy it would be possible to make a mold of the cover of the original switch, then you could use any switch behind it ???
