Title: ok I have a leak...need some help
Post by: m1tch on April 16, 2008, 11:09:52 PM
Right, as you can probably see below I now have an FC, the guy I got it from said that power steering fluid was low, so I got some more. I filled it up a bit the day after I got it and checked all the levels on everything else, it is all full, which is good lol

today I found a patch of fluid under the car, I know I split a bit when filling the power stearing but not this much, the fluid is clean. All other fluids, oil, coolant, brake and clutch fluids are all full so im pretty sure its the power stearing fluid thats leaked or something, is this common on an FC? I might refill it fully and see how that goes, what do you guys think?

im no expert but, first id make sure its the the power steering fluid. Then first look at the resevior (if there even is one). If its cracked fix i somehow (i\'d ask on here :)). If not it sounds a bit more serious.

I think cause the powersteering fluid has been low and the car hasn\'t done many miles over the last few years then im pretty sure its the power steering fluid and the seals have just dried out of something like that! But I will keep checking, I moved my car back a bit last night and there wasn\'t a leak, probably cause it had emptied whatever fluid container already lol

Mine seems to use powersteering fluid. Not much I just keep an eye on it and top it up as necessary. I figured its just worn seals which is to be expected of a car its age. I don\'t get puddles or drips under the car though.
