Title: My new RX
Post by: najiru on April 16, 2008, 05:57:38 PM
Finally picked up my FD on Friday and thought I\'d share some pics...

Just after pick up, filling it up... going to have to get used to this.

Stopped for some food on the way home, my mate James looking a bit unimpressed lol

The bodywork is not in the best shape but I\'ll be sorting that out. Front splitter is missing but am thinking of taking the opportunity to get an aftermarket one anyway. It\'s a \'95 Type RB with (as far as I can tell) only a cat back exhaust in the way of engine mods.

It\'s on 17" alloys and is scrubbing a lot at the front as it\'s so low (see pic below). It has Bilstein shocks but unknown springs. I need to get new springs to raise it up a bit but don\'t know what to go for that will give me decent clearance.

Lots are advertised as reducing by 25-30mm from stock, should this give me enough room? If anyone has pics of a car with this reduction that would be great. It\'s not like they\'re massive wheels either :3Confused

Thanks.

Looks nice mate, only picked mine up a few weeks ago and the first this I did was fill it up as well.  I\'d be interested to know what springs you go for, cant believe how low the front is at the moment. :)

Thanks all :D

Gave it a thorough cleaning inside tonight, looks a million times better! It was in desparate need. Bottom of doors had been kicked with dirty shoes alot lol.

Car cost me £2.5k, it was on ebay and we were the only ones to go look at it apparently. Did a compression test and got 7.4 (though we were using a standard cylinder tester) and got even bounces with the valve open. The seller had it checked over by Lindop who advised that apart from needing a good service it is in good shape.

As I said there is a good amount of bodywork to be done but at least it will keep me nice and busy ;)
