Title: Coilover choices
Post by: RussH on April 11, 2008, 01:36:53 PM
After my ad for some coilevers for my FD I\'ve been offered a few sets:

Mazdaspeed with Eibach springs
Tein HR\'s
Aragosta

Anybody got any unbiased opinions about which ones are best? It\'s mainly for the road and occasional track days. I don\'t mind the ride being firm but don\'t want to have to visit the osteopath!!

Can all of them be rebuilt? How much? Where?

I\'m new to FD\'s so please bear with me:chat
:cheers
Russ

Hi all,

Anybody got any views on the any of the coilovers? I wanna get a set on the car ASAP but don\'t want something that\'s gonna be completely unsuitable.

Any feedback would be appreciated.:chat

Thanks

Russ

Hi Russ,

I would say the Mazdaspeed if they are adjustable ride hight, the Teins will be old as they dont make HS\'s any more and I cant give an opinian on the Aragosta stuff as I have never heard of them, sorry.

Aragosta i think are an italian make, Top Secret use them on alot of their cars, very good stuff ive heard. My company has some FEED race spec coilovers for sale, used. Very stiff ride, excellent for track use.

Aragosta are made in Belgium they are good suspensions, I\'ve had the mazdaspeeds in the past and they are pretty good.

Thanks for the info.
Do you know if the Mazdaspeed or Aragosta can be rebuilt? Is there anyone in the Midlands that you can recommend?

Cheers

Im not too sure matey, but i know that Pip @ WGT gets them serviced by sending them back to Japan. You would have to call him to confirm though. Hope this helps.

I think the best idea for coilovers is to make sure the 1s u get are super adjustable, so you can set it up for the application you have in mind and arn\'t limited.

Freddy i think the ones you searched for on Google ;) are different to the ones made for Japanese cars. Here are both sites:-

http://www.aragosta-suspension.com/history.html (http://www.aragosta-suspension.com/history.html) - Belgium

http://www.aragosta.co.jp (http://www.aragosta.co.jp) - Japan

I\'m not so sure because I ordered a set from Japan a long time ago and the suspensions were shipped from Belgium.

hmmm..

Hmmm, you could be right then Freddy, maybe they have changed their logo. But you would think a company based in the European Union would have a dealer in the uk and not shipping via Japan. Seems strange to me, i\'ll have to investigate further, but not much is know about Aragosta and info on the web is limited. Anyone able to shed some light on this?
