Hi,
I\'m picking up my first FD tomorrow and am a bit concerned about what fuel is safe to use. I have been looking through the forum and am struggling to work out if it is safe to use vpower etc at 99RON in a jap car with the stock ecu. The car has only a cat back exhaust in the way of engine mods. I am taking some octane booster with me to pick it up but am not sure if i need to use this all the time or not?
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
N
vpower is the closest to the jap fuel we have so on a stock car it`ll be fine but you should invest in a powerfc ecu and have a remap just to be 100% :)
Thanks, will run the vpower for now then and look at getting an ecu when i start upping the power more.
Cheers :Thumbs-up
V-power all the way :)
yup, V-power is the way forward - grab yourself a Shell club card when you get it - you\'ll be using it a lot!!! :lol
You can get your PFC mapped for UK fuel at 95RON tho if you so wish :D or find a UK Standard ECU :)
Tesco\'s 99ron.
Been running it for 2.5 years without a hiccup. :)

To be fair i use Tesco super unleaded fuel too without any problems and also do shopping there, so the 5p a litre off comes in handy :D

yip iv used it for all my imported cars, plus i get the points for the petrol lol, and its about 6p cheaper than bp ultimate, never had any probs with it and thats what was in ma car when pip maped it, i just didnt tell im cus he`d shout at me :S
Thanks guys, I picked it up an had to fill it on 98RON as that was as high as they had so I added octane booster to be safe. Luckily I have a local shell so will be vpower from now on.
On another note on my first drive of it I managed to experience heavy rain followed by hail stones and it was sunny when i set off! Just took it very easy :D
