Title: Elvetham Heath Car Show - July 20th
Post by: Lisa on April 09, 2008, 09:25:29 PM
This year will be the Fifth Year of the Elvetham Heath Car Show held in Hampshire and is on July 20th, 2008.

The show has been organised to provide a great day out for all the family to see the finest motorcars on offer, from the latest Dealership models, Rallying, Prestige, and Race prepared, to the finest examples of historic sports cars.

Family entertainment including Fairground rides, kids Go-Carts, candy floss, burgers, hotdogs, beer tent, Golf challenges, etc, etc.

All the prizes will be raffled and monies raised will be split between the Macmillan Cancer Relief, and the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

Over the past four years we have been experiencing average public attendance of over 2000 people which is very encouraging.

Due to the feedback and more people involved with the planning and advertising, we are expecting over 3000+ visitors to attend this year.

This is a non profit event and free to enter.

See http://www.elvethamheathcarshow.co.uk/2008-poster.jpg for more details.

Title: MRC Stand and gazebo
Post by: noyzboy on July 02, 2008, 08:17:33 PM
Hi.

I plan to have a MRC Gazebo at Elvetham to publicise the club and give us a focal point.
I have contacted the organisers and will post up more details when they get back to me.

I\'ll also post up some ideas of where you could gather and convoy from.

It\'s a quite wide rangeing car show, not Japanese only or one make and is a good day out. Entrance is FREE. The organisers aim to raise money for charities by collections on the day, so bring some cash.

Pictures of the 2006 show are here:  http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?p=256200#post256200

We didn\'t make it in 2007 due to a JAE date clash.

Look forward to seeing all the London and the South East members.
Lets hope for sun.

The show website is here: http://www.elvethamheathcarshow.co.uk/

First time for what?:Giggle

The event or Blackbush? - I have been to Blackbush many times as I used to live in Reading, but have not been for about 5 years now - so whilst it is near the event and we are coming up from Kent thought I would incorporate the two!

I meant Blackbushe. No worries then if you\'re a Blackbushe market stalwart, the last time I went, there were some head units for sale that grabbed my eye but on a closer look I noticed they were made by a company called \'Pyle\'! lol

It\'s this Sunday...

Plan to come down to this - any more info about what to do when we get there.

Is there general parking and club parking.

The original post says it\'s free - that right?

Any update?

John

The event is based on an open green, and 2 years ago we just drove there, setup a gazebo and parked up some cars - it was quite informal, and you find your own pitch so to speak.  There was a guy on the entrance to the green area that was checking that you were displaying with a club - but apart from that I guess visitor parking would be in the supermarket or pub car parks or around the streets nearby (it\'s a semi posh housing estate :) )

There is no cost as such, but there are charity buckets going around so you can make a donation.

Im going to be attending this event, i feel i should as its rather close to me.
Im coming from winnersh, having fun on the backroads on the drive over hehe.

Is it open parking for every memeber or is it just full members on the stand?
Just wundering if theres any point valeting the car.

Ive got no idea how big this place is either, sounds big judging by how many clubs are attending.

See you lot on sunday :)

Hmm - should be able to make it, and early enough to get the car on the MRC stand to boot :)

(that is, providing I haven\'t knackered my engine by over-filling the oil :o)
Title: Caparo T1 to be at Elvetham
Post by: noyzboy on July 16, 2008, 06:28:40 PM
Caparo T1 to be at Elvetham...Well thats what the organisers say.

Info on the show is here:  http://www.elvethamheathcarshow.co.uk/EH_location.htm.
The post code (for your sat navs) is at the bottom of the page. The "de Havilland " pub is nearby

I strongly suggest that you approach the venue from the west.
From the east the housing estate is a maze and will drive you nuts.

The organisers say
1)       Arrival time â€" ideally before 10:00am (but no worries if you can’t make it that early
2)       Pitch arrangements â€" there will be marshals who will be directing â€" although its fairly flexible
3)       Last count we are expecting 250 â€" 300 cars, so earliest in will get the best pitches
4)       Are you guys still on for 10 cars & a gazebo ?? have numbers increased ??

5)       Maps are available on the web site http://www.elvethamheathcarshow.co.uk/EH_location.htm

Ps this years star attraction Aston Martin DBR9 & Caparo T1 J

I know that you guys will be drifting on and out all day ( No, that\'s a figure of speech...it\'s not a drifting event).

If you want to convoy, I suggest that you gather at Blackbushe Airport at 10.00. They have a big car park. I am not convoy organiser !!

Look forward to seeing you there.

Quick note for anyone that looks in time:  using the postcode on the website will send your SatNav to the wrong location (on TomTom at least, and on Multimap / GoogleMap on the \'net).

However, the directions on the site seem to be OK (having tried to follow them on the map), so you should be able to use that to re-target the satnav :)

It\'s not miles wrong, but it could be a bit fustrating to find yourself going around what appears to be the local housing estate :)
