Title: airbox and so on
Post by: Squealy on March 07, 2004, 02:57:12 AM
After my last question about induction kit I decided to remove my airbox (for fun) and broke it!!! Oops.  Broke the port for the pipe going to air pump.  Too much pulling and hauling I guess. Don\'t take the piss too much.

Also found that the seal on my ast cap is split.  Good excuse to get an alloy one.  Does anyone know if this split could cause the gurgley noise I am getting.  Someone mentioned that the ast can gurgle when I was feeling a bit doom and gloom about water seals maybe being gone.

Also put about 1 litre of coolant in via ast, rad and other bottle thing.  Turned car on and it dumped about 300ml out the bottom at the other bottle thing.  Is it just overflow or a split pipe?

Does anyone know where to get alloy ast and can you get alloy other bottle thing.  Phew.  Thats it.

Cheers
Neil

If the water level in the car is that low, it will take a couple of re-fills to remove air from the system, they are a pain in the ar..... to remove the air completely.

As for where to get an AST from try Pip at WGT.

@Squealy

Don\'t dispare... Fitting an alloy AST is one of the reliability upgrades along with the radiator.

Like fish said, WGT have AST and all the other goodies.
