As above how difficult is it to change the primary injectors, while the engine block is still in the car (FD3S).
It\'s just it\'s not long since I rebuilt my engine and then I started having trouble startung the car and I think I have now finally narrowed it down to the primary injectors.
Obviously I don\'t want to take the block back out and I know it will probably be awkward, and just wanted tomake sure it is possible.
should just be a case of poping the plenum off, then the rats nest i think?? injectors are just sitting at the top of the block so shouldnt be 2 hard a job, but iv never done it :)
I know where they are, I was just wondering how awkward it is to remove all the rats nest, and hold it out the way etc. cos\' there seems to be quite alot in the way above the injectors.
its possible, pita but possible. although ive never done it with the rats nest in place.
matt
I removed my primary injectors 3 times (each time putting EVERYTHING back on the car!) Did it with the rat\'s nest still in place. Fiddly but on the 3rd attempt the job was all done in under 2 hours!
Kind of a relief to hear, I just hope it definately is the injectors causing the problem
hmm well if you say that the injectors might be the problem then if the engine has run lean you might need to get it rebuilt anyway..
Ive just rebuilt it, it has barely had a run, It was running fine then I got starting problems, and I replaced loads of bits, only now I\'m finding there is not much fuel getting into the chambers, hence the reason it is not firing. I know it\'s not the fuel pump, and the car wasn\'t running lean before my series of problems started.
