So what events do people have planned this year? What mods, upgrades repairs etc? :wave
full re-spray :D
doubt it\'ll happen :\'(
Like to get single turbo installed in FD, maybe get it on LPG too. Get car to scare me silly again :D
1st gen needs the front end rebushing and a 85mm Thottle Body. Get rid of rust on the 1st gen body work and touch up. Maybe try and coax respeed to make a rhd steering kit. Possibly try and source some 13b bits and investigate 20b FB ! Possibly go over to EFI gas on the 1st gen too.
What of this list happens is anyones guess :Giggle
Shaun
oops, just saw this is in the 2nd gen section. Does a 2nd gen engine in the FB let me post in this thread :Giggle
Well going to attend as many events as i can in the White Cab, Lots of camping and having fun.
The red project car is having a GP body kit and wide arch kit as we speak, full respay, new hood, wheels and all the usual gizmos in gauges, boost controllers etc. Engine is out and getting the tin paint job along with a bigger turbo, stainless mainifold, external wastegate and then getting rid of air pump and emmissions. Going to be mated to a Racing Beat 3 1/2 system but with only the twin boxes for some nice sounds. It already has new drilled and slotted disks with tein coilovers. I would imagine alloys to be 9J on rear possibly 9.5 and 8\'s on front to fill the arches. Roof will be mohair and not vinyl. Was going to refit the roll cage but might do something similar to the
MX5 and have something that attaches to the roof mounts and not the floor.
Apart from that have a few places to go with work, canada, Belgium, Scotland (Moray) and the usual going away fighting bad boys somewhere hot in the world at some point i cant devulge. I think I can find the time to work on the car !! Good job I have an understanding wife. lol
Moray= lossiemouth or Kinloss?
Hopefully get mine back, then go to some shows. When the engine is run in it will be taken on a track and used in anger. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ;)
Going to make most of the main shows this year, and try and do better on the strip.
Got more work to do on the car - eManage needs to go on - which will be soon as the custom water/air intake meter thingy is nearly finished. Got to fit water injection and better cooling, electric rad fan and some bigger secondaries. Pushing ever onwards towads 300rwhp.
Got a good result on the dyno today - well chuffed, car made 317 FWHP at 0.7 Bar - but it\'s a good 500-800rpm higher in the rev range - so got some tweaking to do on the mapping and boost controller.
nice figures there prof :D
Good result there Prof -are you aiming for any specific time on the strip?
My plans are\\;-
Upgrade cooling
Bigger fuel pump
Fit the access ECU
New engine/drive train mounts
And I\'m seriously interedted in seeing if I can squeeze an FD diff onto the old girl.
-Put on all the Mazdaspeed bits I\'ve bought:
MS Front and Rear strut bar
MS Front splitter
MS01\'s 17"
-Find a decent set of coilovers, Would like to keep the theme and get the kouki Mazdaspeed fully adj set.
-Sort out the 20 years worth of dents and bad paint
-Replace the outer weatherstripping
-Rebuild the gearbox
-Keep an eye out for an AP Engineering Power FC setup
-Get that decent Racing Beat full TII exhaust
Not much eh

I think if I can push under 15 I\'ll be happy, if I could get below 14 that\'s the eventual aim - but the driver\'s been letting the side down ;)
I like the idea of the FD diff as well - going to find out how much work that is, as the Torsen unit\'s come up on eBay frequently enough

You should see that sort of time easy bud. I ran a 14.1 on my first ever go. I\'ve only got basic mods at the mo too. Not sure of the exact figure but I think im running around 240/250 bhp. Getting Dyno\'d soon so can confirm then.
Im planning to pick mine up next sunday :D lol then im gonna make sure its all happy, keep the stock internals and stuff until it gets rebuilt next year but will probably sort out the intake and exhaust and a new ECU this year, as well as uprated HT leads, just wanna make sure it runs to its best before I mod it further :)
erm.... maybe getting the car back would be a start, then I need to remember how to drive it with circa 400bhp on tap!
Are you sure you still have a car Mark? :Giggle
id like to drop a second of my strip time (drag racing guys nothing else!) should def be in 15\'s this year
new wheels (18\'s)
goto a 48 IDA to increrase power near the 180 - 200 mark (have a better flowing rear box, oil cooler and electric fan since last dyno run)
maybe some more porting possibly next year rather than this
drilled and grooved disc upgrade rebuild calipers and try not to brake anything:Thumbs-up
Prof the cabs really coming on now plenty of hard work gone into it, are you going Donnington in May?
Mark
Mark - I think we\'ve got something on at the same time as Donny - so will miss that one. Going to Brooklands Meet though - looking forward to that as we seem to have a good few FC\'s coming.

Best one I\'ve heard all year!!!
Did he say what it would be ready for?
You must be fairly excited at the prospect of getting it back?
Quote from: RotorHeidMoray= lossiemouth or Kinloss?

Well now that is almost worth going and buying a real FC for! In all seriousness, Matt honestly thinks he has a good chance of getting it ready! I\'ve got an MOT booked so... never know :3gears-lh
Make sure have spare wipers, bulbs etc handy - would be a crime to fail the MOT after all this time!!!

more concerned about the tyres tbh, I seem to remember they were getting a little on the worn side (just on the legal side of dodgy if memory serves)
Maybe Tim or Matt will have a spare set of wheels you can borrow for around 4 years..?

ha ha now that is funny!
The next step is to decide how I\'m going to fit the T04E Hybrid to the car, either with the stainless manifold I have, then get made some custom oil and water lines, a custom downpipe to fit the altered location, and buy a wastegate; or; get a 10mm spacer plate and bodge an external wastegate into the standard manifold! What you guys reckon?
Then its;
-Fit the EGT Gauge boss into the Exhaust
-Do a rough tune to get it driveable/mot-able w/1000cc inj!
-Get it MOTed
-Get it insured and registed as an Import
-Take it up to WGT to get the Microtech mapped
-Set up the Coilovers
-Finish and fit the Carbon vented bonnet
Then later this year:
-Buy some 18\'\' Rota GTR or Torques
-Make a GRP/Carbon Fibre Folding Rear Bench
-Widearch and GP Sport kit it
-Respray/Vinyl/Demo Car Stylee
-Wire up/Fit e-fan to Microtech ECU
