There\'s an easy way in which to not get ripped off with this sort of thing: don\'t buy!

Maybe this guy is not so stupid as they are over £300 to buy the set from mazda, he knows the price they are worth but to be honest they only suffer from surface rust and can be cleaned and painted to look good.
Main problem is that the threads can corrode and can be a pain to remove.  Its the postage that will deny him the sale, £1 at the most and he might have got a sale.
I have looked into getting new replacements but the nearest is the German variety but they are a smaller diameter and you would have modify the attachment points to get them to fit snuggly.

I do agree the postage thing is a rip off with Ebay, I recently bought a memory stick from Ebay, the guy lived a mile down the road from me, but wouldn\'t let me pick it up and I had to pay £6 postage.

But then again I got the item for £1

You only pay commission on the cost of buying the item, and if you set a reserve on it then you pay a price on that too.

So by setting the postage high it discounts the amount you give to the Bay of E....I guess that you need to bid to value you feel taking more into account the postage cost......sounds obvious but you can understand why they do it.

I thought ebay was working to stop the postage scams?  (After all its lost revenue for them)

Not really a scam though surely?

If you dont like the postage costs dont bid on it.  The only people its hurting is eBay??  If the can get the person to agree to drop the postage costs before you bid against it then fair play.

An my heart bleeds for poor eBay.....they make a bloody fortune as it is!!

They\'ve intorduced that new system though haven\'t they?

Now when you leave feedback, you get to give certain areas a mark out of 5. If you makr postage down as 1/2 or 3 out of 5, it pops up a box asking why you weren\'t happy. You can then tick "postage costs unreasonable"..

If someone then gets a certain number of people saying their postage costs are unreasonable, ebay act. Not sure what they can do about it in the real world mind..

i normally wont bid on them if there is enough choice i will pick out the one with the cheapest postage.
when i sell items i price the postage correctly then u will get more bidders as people r not daft so overpricing postage to save a few pence is pointless imo.

Same here as i will only bid on an item if i think that postage is reasonable.  It suppose to allow for packaging and all that sort of thing so its always going to be higher than what it cost to post.  Ebay are clamping down as they are losing lots of money due to lost revenue.  I must admit its getting fairer.  I did email the chap to which this thread is all about and told him he was a fool to command that much in postage fees as nearly everything is £25. I will post the reply if he dares to answer back.
Just as a matter of interest I sent 2 FC seats by courier and that only cost about £50, £80 for an engine by pallet and i think most things around a brief case size i can post for about £10 or less so to charge £25 for a packet of bolts really is taking the Peeeeeee.

I think the worst rip offs on ebay would be the fake exedy clutches..
