Post by: captainlovepony on April 02, 2008, 06:44:51 PM
Hi people,
I get a slight kick off of blue smoke when started from cold but dont seem to be losing any oil when i check it ,any ideas?
Also i seem to have a hot smell from drivers side back wheel arch after normal running?
                  Thanks for your support.

i take it you have an fd??  smoke when cold on start up is normal these cars run pretty rich until they are nice and hot. if you have a burning smell from the rear arch/wheel go for a 10 min drive see if the smell is there then with the back of your hand touch the wheel where the smell is coming from, touch the other wheels and if the one with the smell is hottest then you have a sticking brake caliper.

hope this helps

I have run car and checked brakes this feels normal temp so could it be the exhaust? Or is it something else.

when i had the supra there was a bad smell of burning coming from the back end. turned out at some point i had run over a plastic bag that had melted on the exhaust. then for several weeks there would be a hot smell until the bag totally burned off it could be something as simple as that!
