Title: Wont start - is it flooded?
Post by: ScuttleRX on March 05, 2004, 09:56:31 PM
Hi all,

Went to start her up today, turned over a few times then kicked over but died, now every time I turn the key all lights etc go off for a sec and the engine doesnt turn over, just hear a click.

Is it flooded, or possibly compression locked if there is such a thing (sure ive heard something like this mentioned b4)?

Just thought id check before i start the whole de-flooding procedure in case it is something else. I thought with a flooded engine it will still turn over but just wouldn\'t start, mines not even turning over.

Batt volt is 10.9 btw, according to PFC

battery mate.

Get a jump start. Could also be the alternator not charging the battery but fd batteries are kind of prown to very suddenly dying.

Yeah it has been sitting there for a while and weve had a few frosty mornings. It died complety bout a month ago after sitting for a week and a half in the snow.

Think it might be time for a new batt :)

Something nice and easy anyway, cheers ;)

forgot to mention, everything lights up as normal, only goes off for a sec when trying to start, then they all come on again.

Just re-read post and it looked like it could have been mis-leading suggesting lights off all the time.

Still likely to be the batt?

nope chuff all mate, just the exhaust, bad boy clutch and hks filter system.

I\'m not gonna do a lot to it either I don\'t think, maybe rad/IC/ecu but I\'m not going for huge power else I\'ll never stop pumping money into it ehhe

yeah think one sides the 1/4 mile and the other then just under 2 mile one.. it\'s that one i\'m interested in hehe
