ok nice one, its the last part i need to finish the car. Its had a total rebuild front and rear and its the only part that would not come off without it braking.

can i ask how you know when they need replacing?

my car has a mystery fault so abs is non operational and the light is always off (i think the previous owner took the bulb out).

Mine broke in to bits trying to take it out. I know people do take the bulbs to get it through the mot. Does your abs work?

The workshop manual has a bunch of diffrent reasons as to why the ABS is shut down and no light illuminates - all to do with circuit connections between the control unit and ecu. Not much you can do with the sensors except check resistance is as expected. The workshop manual describes an ABS tester which plugs into the ABS ECU system to check for faults.
Not sure what there is to hate about ABS, it\'s not like it fires off all the time or causes you to stop slower or anything.

Think i might just take the bulb out for the mot and just use a anchor to stop.

On some cars, which have the abs light always on, i have found just taking the sensors out and cleaning them has worked.

i do want mine working again as in the dry its ok as i run aftermarket pads etc but in the wet it locks under hard braking so i would like it to work.

just dont know what to do about it really. :(

been looking at other threads on the same problem and it seems to come down to the ECU and trying to pull codes from it. Im no good with ecu\'s etc. I use http://www.jimmys-rx7.co.uk/ (http://www.jimmys-rx7.co.uk/) he has done alot of work for me and it might be worth a phone call.
