Chaps
This is my setup
Standard Engine/ larger SMIC/ decat exhaust/ apexi ecu/ twin hks air filters
now
I have not had my car tuned/ remapped in 1 1/2 years and recently I have been getting knock between 40-80.. and knock only happens between 2k and 3k RPM
Now late last night it started going up too a constant 110 knock between that rev range
Does this mean I am in urgent need of a remap If so anyone Near heathrow that could do it doday. Obviously I dont mind traveling!!!!
Thanks chaps in advance

I have the same problem but up to 70, have you changed anything recently that may cause it to be worse? or is it the original problem degrading further! tricky one! the first thing i am going to do after fitting a new knock sensor made no difference! is to fit Magnicor leads, and rewire the fuel pump and check the imob wire size! then fit large DP and have it mapped for first time, but i would like to get the knock mumbers down first,
it was about 70 but as said last night just got worse
just took the car out for a run it was fone until it got warm then i got knock of 105
hi chris are u getting a high knock reading on boost or off boost
if it is off boost it cant be knock unless u have a really serious problem and car would be splutering and running like a dog if u wernt getting fuel
what happens if u rev the car while in neutral do u still get th high knock reading
strange that its only started, i would say change your knock sensor first as its probably the cheepest option to look at first. then have a look at the wiring.
how long has the fuel been in the tank??
maybe your plugs need replacing or cleaning??
plugs are only 3 months old Iridium 10.5 ones
Fresh tank of fuel every day
when in neutral it also does it. even when it is in negative boost
You only really get knock under load. It could be your knock sensor playing up or somethings workes loose and is bumping round in the engine bay which the knock sensor is picking up.
those are very cold plugs, is it difficult to start on cold days ?
You prob only need 9\'s with your setup.
I would change the plugs, then knock sensor. If still no joy go see a tuner for a map, maybe Carl in Newbury not tooo far away
quick question......
what knock readings is everyone getting on the pfc\'s??
you are running very cold plugs which will foul quickly... are you running a single turbo? if not those are too cold for twins... also the knock sensor is notorious for picking up other sound and failing over time, so not very good for judging knock levels.
