Say I had up to £15k to spend on an RX7 - cos we cant import 99+ spec Rexs over here [boo hiss], would it be a good idea to buy the best example I can find [say for £8-10k] and they use the rest of my budget on getting the car looking and driving like I want?
I love the look of the late spec cars, so I\'d 100% want those additions, and then I guess I\'d have enough money to get the engine running real smooth, plus sorting the suspension/brakes etc?
I understand I wouldn\'t then get my money back if I decided to sell it a few years later, but what an amazing Rex I would have?!?! :D
10k would buy you my 97 spec with loads of toys and 350bhp :)
Got any pics of your Rex dude?
I\'m only talking in theory at the moment, as I gotta sort a new house first, but in the future I will be buying a Jap supercar and gotta pick between an RX7, Evo 6/7/8, 350Z or R33 GTR!!!
I wouldnt count a 350z as a supercar. The RX8 beats it hands down for looks, handling etc
If you are planning on importing budget for a rebuild including turbo\'s never believe what the auction house or seller in japan says.
Nah, I aint really a RX8 fan Ash. They bought by to many men in suits - plus I think the Z is far more aggressive and a bunch faster. The 7 on the other hand has got the lot: the looks, the speed, the rarity. Wish I could find a Spirit R over here for a price I could afford!
here ya go man.. i`ll post bettre pics on a proper thread in a few weeks..

The Nissan\'s motor is sweeeet, and you can make them handle very nicely :)

Lol, wtf does that make an RX8 then!
cheap mans RX7 lol
Check out the for sale section as there are plenty of great cars for sale atm...http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47512 This car has never...NEVER gone wrong in almost 5 years now!!! Cheap as chips...
So spending £7k on a good RX7 and the rest specing it to what I want [be it another £7k], is a good idea then?
Oh yeah, another thing I wanted to ask: how come I cant find a section with pics of members cars, is there one?
There is but you have to be a full paid up member mate
Hello fella :)
If you want to import a 99spec car then surely next year makes them 10 years old and so no need for an sva/esva.
Is that right?
that exactly what i was thinking ricco wait 9 months if your sorting the house out first anyway it will fly by.
Is it just me who thinks the 350Z looks like a fat Audi TT? And the headlights are on the wrong way round! Fugly!
If you want to import one, take a look a jm imports...... They imports some great cars for around that price and you wont have to do a single thing to it :D
Yeah, I was wondering if that 10 year rule will apply to 99spec RX7\'s from next year...reckon it would be worth the wait.
Hey interloper, you Rex looks sweeeeet dude!
buy it :D
its the full genuin cwest kit fitted to mine for who asked lol,,

I\'ll have some freshly rebuilt rex\'s for sale in the near future for around £8000 with a 12 month unlimtied mileage warranty, but if your spending that much, go to JM imports. :)
I\'ll 3rd that about JM-Imports
...its where after a year of looking i went, couldn\'t have asked for better service, plenty of decent cars offered before i got the one i did. Perfect condition as advised, but IIRC he has a guy/mate in Japan that checked it out first.
Not to sure about the kit on that JM car, mainly cos I love the simple, clean look of the 99 spec cars...I do like the yellow though :)

well if you wait slightly longer than the year the price of the 99 spec will go down a bit more, as people realise there not so rare
