Title: Cleaned up my engine bay
Post by: SupraZed on March 17, 2008, 08:10:20 PM
Was having a look around on the detailingworld.com forum over the weekend and was inspired to clean up my new car\'s engine bay which was only moderately dirty.

It\'s unbelievable how clean some peoples cars are and I haven\'t really taken things to the extreme but am happy with the results.

I purchased a product called Chemical Guys Orange Citrus degreaser which I diluted about 1:4 and just used a small paintbrush with the bristles cut to about 60% of there original length.

After brushing and loosening all the grease and grime etc I just used a watering can to rinse off in specific areas.  I also gave any electrical connections a quick spary with wd40 to seal them although I was still careful not to get any water on them.

Anyway, here\'s the results, first 3 pics are before and last 3 are after, the difference is much more obvious in the flesh;

I\'d love to but car doesn\'t have an alarm yet so it\'s staying in the garage!:)
Will hopefully get out to some of the meets over the summer months though.

It should be fine at the strip. I took mine all over the country without an alarm, even to Rotorstock, leaving it in a hotel car park overnight...its only round the corner you might aswell :)

Nice job Suprazed.

Where abouts are you in West Yorkshire ? I hope I can  collect my new car this weekend, so it will be helpful to have a local member to contact.

I\'m near Wakefield.

I\'m in Ossett, 5 minutes from Jct40 M1.

When I get my car, I\'ll let you know and we could meet up locally for a chat.
Not sure whether I\'ll have it in time to attend the Drag racing at York over the weekend, but I may go and watch.
Are you going ?

Chris

Are you going up to York drag racing this weekend ?

Looks like its going to be very cold on Sat and Sun, not sure about the weather on Monday for the Super Street Shootout, I might risk it for a few hours.
