Title: Sleek Popups?
Post by: SupraZed on March 14, 2008, 07:34:27 PM
Does anyone know what make these light are, I  never seen them anywhere else.

Are they good or bad, I like the standard popups but these give a more sleek look at the same time.

Any info or other pictures of them appreciated.

Cheers.

I think the lazy eye kit just stops the pop ups from fully popping up, this means the actual light is pointing towards the ground which would obviously be useless!

Appreciate the replies, would love to see them on a car that isn\'t missing it\'s front end. :chat

Oooh, I likes them! Although I think it looks more like a stern schoolmistress than a crack whore, maybe that\'s just my own perverted emotional baggage though!

Never seen them..

Look excellent..

May be veilside, but I don\'t think they were ever in the Veilside catalogue though...

Great!

There are similar ones for MX5 and 180 could be used or modifed.

Cheers for the pic Pete, I like them, they look great, quite similar to NSX lights.

I came accross them by accident while trying to locate a passenger side headlight cover.

Does anyone have an idea of what it would cost to get the covers color coded to red.  Also, do you think a good finish could be achieved with a sparay can, assuming I can get hold of a can of Vintage Red!

Many thanks.

Believe it or not, Halfrauds do a very good match for Vintage Red in their own-brand range (though they call it "Mazda Classic Red"). I sprayed my plastic intercooler pipes with it, thinking you\'d never notice if they weren\'t an exact match for the bodywork, but it was actually surprisingly close. With that said, red is often a total PITA to match cos its often so badly faded

Thanks for that Nik, will check out the Halfrauds paint, I think even if I got original vintage red it would be unlikely to match due to the age of the rest of the paint.

Also, with red, you can see the difference better at night under streetlights, it can sometimes make panels look a completely different color even though they may look identical in daylight.

Dont quote  me on if its true or not but Honda Milano Red is "supposedly" a very good match for Vintage Red.

Since this thread has been resurrected anyway, just thought I\'d mention that my lights are now for sale since I sold the car recently.

I\'ll put up a proper FS thread in the appropriate section soon.

£300, free postage (Within UK).

Sorry mate, the lights are still available but I didn\'t realise what they\'re really worth so the price has had be increased a little.  And yes, everything is in full working order, the kit actually uses genuine Mazda pop-up motors.  The only thing that is not included is the light covers although I do have 1 red one which I could include, (standard Mazda covers are used with the kit).

Here\'s a link to the for sale thread.

All you have is two people telling you they are worth more. You\'ll notice those people aren\'t buying them. Anyway, £300, your original asking price, waiting here for you. Reply on either thread.
