Title: Slough/Maidenhead area.
Post by: DemonRx4 on March 14, 2008, 05:10:50 PM
Am i right in thinking there are a few RX7\'s in this area? I know of two tuned FD\'s a red and a black one and i know there is atleast one other FC (mainly because i thought someone had pinched mine).

I have a red FC TII, i\'m from high wycombe so it\'s likely you\'ve seen me about?

FD\'s are all over the place!:p

There\'s a lovely red FD around my way atleast i think he is anyway. There was an old skool Corolla with tuned exhaust and alloys in front of me and this FD behind me when i was coming home about 9pm last sunday, he pulled alongside me, gave us a thumbs up and carried on :-)

oh actually yea, i did see it once, think it drifted round the corner near the library followed by an m3, which failed :P was drunk at the time.

you didn\'t buy your fc of a guy called jamie elsewhere in bucks did you?
Title: Slough/Maidenhead area.
Post by: DemonRx4 on March 17, 2008, 12:24:47 AM
Oh yeah no shortages of M3\'s in Maidenhead!!

No mine came from Rotechnics sold as seen.

I know, im debating whether to keep mine standard or tune it a bit (handling etc), although there is a nice bodykit for sale on the american ebay damn what to do, what to do.

What are you doing with yours?
Title: Slough/Maidenhead area.
Post by: dthebuk on March 17, 2008, 11:57:01 AM
i have the same problem. First off i want to get the rust fixed and sort the body out etc. The cars already had a new exhaust and cold air intake, the only things i don\'t have from the original car are the gear knob and the exhaust.

Though i do have some S5 lights that i may put on and i was going to lower it, but i think its low enough to be honest. The plan is to just keep all the stock bits so i can return it stock as i think that will be worth more when its sold in a few years :D

dthebuk , how low is yours? and on what size wheels? do you have pics?
i wanted to lower 35mm on 16" wheels!
Title: Slough/Maidenhead area.
Post by: dthebuk on March 17, 2008, 06:35:39 PM
i belive its stock, but when i parked it next to the t2 similar to yours it just looked a bit lower.

unfortunately that pic doesn\'t really show it looking low, ill get another one up when its light

Ha its alright for you guy\'s they\'ve stuffed ruddy great speed bumps at my new work, the ones that\'ll rip off anything between the wheels if you hit them at anything more than 10!! I\'ve already lost my screamer pipe (3rd exhaust).

I think im just going to Poly bush it and get strut brace\'s or strut brace and stiffer anti rollbar.

dthbuk, your car looks almost identical to mine (i will get a pic up soon). And bonobo your car looks the way i want mne to look. Although it does look a different shade of red.

That\'s actually a flattering pic of my car!
look closer and it\'s several shades of red! lol

i\'d need to see it in person, but 30-35mm is probably good

well demon, to make yours look like his, 1st off you\'ll need some series 5 lights, which i happen to have, havn\'t decided whether to put them on yet, you can always make me an offer :D

:Giggle - Id Need a respray first, it has had one in the past and well lets just say there was a pushbike, broken window and Ducktape involved needless to say the drivers door doesn\'t look particularly attractive.

If either of you are on Facebook there\'s and RX7 club on there with a few nice FC\'s a couple of them are EGI\'s

think im on mazda rx-7 and rx-7 owners

yea took mine to the body shop today for touch up stuff and he quoted £80 to do the odd bits, the paints pretty good so i don\'t see any point in a re-spray
Title: Slough/Maidenhead area.
Post by: DemonRx4 on March 18, 2008, 02:39:28 PM
80 quid! where was that? a touch up instead of full respray would be much better for my wallet

Also, the paint will look slightly different as yours is likely to be faded, looks better than rust though
Title: Slough/Maidenhead area.
Post by: DemonRx4 on March 18, 2008, 03:10:16 PM
Okay thats excellent cheers james.

Im working on the faded paint situation. My dad used to be a valeter so i\'ve been taught to professionally compound a car to get the old paint back but some parts are just not saveable. All i have to do now is find the space to do it.

Actually yeah i feel for you!  i can only afford to run mine because the company are paying a fuel allowance :god otherwise 60 miles a day at 14 days a month would be catastrophic to my wallet.

Its official i Love Rotechniks!!
One of the Sodding backboxes fell off of my car on Sunday on the way home from a particularly crappy day at work so i parked it up and walked away hoping it would get struck by lightening. :Grrr

Gave it to my mate at Rotechniks to take to work today as i work nights so i need to sleep, and i got a call at midday to pick it up. all sorted and a fantastic price too!! :cheers

Now its purring like a kitten after filling it (again) with Shell V max (still not noticed an improvement), and spending £6 on a car wash the car has been spoilt significantly today :chat

Mine was bad enough with just one back box missing yours must be hoofing loud!!

Title: Slough/Maidenhead area.
Post by: dthebuk on March 25, 2008, 05:55:42 PM
Lol my mate claims he heard it 2 miles away in the dead of night...
you sure it was melting it? not just the carbon build up?
I only found out that it spits flames the other day, never realised.
I would quite like to put it up against urs though, just to see how much difference the chav mods make
Title: Slough/Maidenhead area.
Post by: DemonRx4 on March 25, 2008, 06:21:29 PM
Lmao bloody hell 2 miles christ im surprised i haven\'t heard it.
Good point actually it probably was carbon build up. a mate of mine on here used to have a new mini and the exhaust melted into the bumper on that so thats what i assume everytime isee carbon build up lol.

Spitting flames is always good!! :Thumbsup!

do you reckon your gonna go to brooklands??
Title: Slough/Maidenhead area.
Post by: dthebuk on March 25, 2008, 08:01:31 PM

ah gotta love the old mini\'s!!!

well yea its always popped but it never struck me that it spat flames, just need someone to tailgate me now, ill show em where its at :D

nah, cant afford it, ill have to train it back from uni then theres petrol to brooklands and back then entrance, then food etc all adds up. Seeing as i just spent 2k on insurance im rather skint :( Ill let you know the next time the cars in maidenhead, its there quite often :D
