Title: rz suspension now fitted
Post by: cyman on March 05, 2008, 10:06:57 PM
latest work done to my car is a full rz suspension set fitted.

i think my car was running type r standard shocks with uprated springs and 2 of the shocks had small leaks. so i contacted someone in the know and he had a complete set of rz shocks and springs (needless to sat i bit his hand off).

ive fitted them to my car and it rocks the car now has a firm but very controlled ride and gives me so much more confidence when driving.

if anyone has standard suspension/nearly standard suspension and gets offered a full set of rz suspension i can highly reccomend it.

Its funny..doing the homework for my suspension replacement its suprising how extreme the feedback is on various set ups.  Some people swear by coilovers whereas others think they poor substitues for the money.   I plumped for Tein Super /Street coilovers and am very pleased.  When I bought the car in 2006 it was advertised as lowered by a specialist.  Yeh right !, he removed 1 coil on each spring with a hacksaw.  The ride has been OK for a year or so but as the roads have deterierated so has my spine !!! Coilovers were easy to fit , easy to set up, the camber, toe in etc can be a fiddle but the end result is terrific.
1 vote for coilovers.

i think all suspension is down completly to personal taste. for me i wanted a good setup that is controlled and not to firm so i can use the car to do a bit of touring as well as track days and a bit of backroad driving. but some people want a firmer ride which coilovers give.

both are perfect depending on exactly what you want from the car

I\'ve gone the other option. R2 setup which is the softest of the type R\'s and stiffened the body and antiroll bars up. Got Racing Beat anti Roll bars front and rear, All poly bushed and soon some Autoexec Front and rear under body braces.
