Can anyone confirm?

That this unit is spliced between the existing igniton amplifier and coil packs, and not a direct replacement for the existing amplifier?

Im sure im reading it correctly!

Thank you in advance! :cheers

yeah it splices in, but seriously save yourself the hassle and get the wiring harness for it, it makes it a 5 min job (and four of those are deciding where to fit the thing!)

I got the harness kit of re-worx. Makes job extremely easy. The splice option looked near on impossible with the confined area.

There are some photos and threads floating around the forum. If you get the harness it\'s really easy :)

Hi, are these really necessary for fd\'s under 500bhp?

as above get the harness then its a simple 10 minit plug and play job :D
Dont think there is any benefit on a none high bhp car unless you run water/meth injection like i do as you will deffo benefit from a stronger spark with the dampening effect of the water.

ive never thought about it in that way, ive always thought a better spark is better for higher horsepower cars but never really thought of a link to water injection

I fitted water/meth inj and had a mild drop off in power as i dont tune for water/meth i only use it for saftey, installed a HKS twin spark and the car returned to its former glory :D

I would agree the Harness would be the way to go. Are they still around the £15 mark?

Hey thanks all for your help.

Sourced all relevant wires, and ended up splicing the HKS Twin Spark into them, very simple no need to remove anything. All is fine and the car pulls much more responsively!

I\'m running a standard FD3S, with the non sequential turbo set up. Now don\'t need to change down a gear when travelling up hills at slow speeds!

For those interested in my reason for installing this:

After running into a second lap at the the Nurburgring (15 mins hard driving) the car would become hesitant on boost?

Would leave it for 10 mins, then back out to the ring and the car would be fine again, back on for second lap and halfway round problem would be return?

After speaking with Matt and Tim @ RXmotors I had been advised that this is what I would need!

All on a ready for this years trip back to the ring, after a few open pit lanes here in the UK of course!

Thank you all

The LED light is on as it should be but not brilliantly bright, does anybody know if this is normal?

Right i\'ve been on  nice long drive and the car seems to have returned the the same hesitation problem on WOT after about 20 mins consistent driving?

I\'ve seen in similar threads a recommendation to change fuel filter and lamda sensor? Where are the cheapest places to but these new apart from mazda direct?

Any other suggestions with remedies to the hesitation?

Many thanks in advance

Do a search on here for lambda sensor. Somebody had posted a link to one that is £27 as a universal one. I\'ve got one waiting to go in. Need the original plug.

Thank you Shaun.

Right this is pointing more to electrical gremlins now as:

Driving today and same 15-20 mins driving, then @ WOT car becomes hesitant not vicious just a as I said hesitant right through the rev range??

Did this on two attempts @ WOT over a 5min drive??

The third time I tried WOT wahooooo she was off as normal in all gears and across the rev range, tried again and still fine????

Anybody with similar symptoms on there FD3S?

I\'m leaving it now till tomorrow to see how it is, can anybody also recommend a good car electrician maybe an RX7 specialist?

Many thanks in advance

It was a WGT stock port rebuild with a trust tripple intercooler, uprated injectors, apexi profec B spec 2. Running racing plugs. Running at about 1 bar on stock twins. K&N air filters placed in colder zones. As straight as possible intercooler pipes and greddy elbow !

Soon will be a single turbo. Haven\'t got a clue what that will do !

Have you still got the cat?

Mine was like that, would boost well on the 1st turbo, then the 2nd would kick in but the boost would only build slowly. Kinda felt hesitant... Sometimes it\'d be fine, sometimes not, but it\'s also only happen after a while of driving.

I guess it was the cat that was dying as binned it for a silenced cat replacement and whoa!!! It was 100% back on form, loads of boost, both turbo\'s :D
