Title: Aftermarket Seats
Post by: Adam on March 03, 2004, 01:31:16 PM
Sorry for posting again but i was wondering if anyone has fitted aftermarket seats in their FD.  Is there anything i need to consider...eg size, rails etc etc.  Any advice or pictures would be great.

cheers

I fitted some a drivers side Bride bucket seat.  Had a Bride subframe which was a perfect fit - better than the Mazda one!  Some pics are on this thread:

To be honest, unless you are tracking then getting such an extreme bucket is not a good idea.  It is a real pain at times.

ive got Mazda Speed in my car.  They were in the car when i bought them, so dont know about fitting, but sizewise thay fit fine, and they arent a small seat.

Lee,

Did the rails that came with the bride seats fit directly into the stock FD holes or did you have to drill new ones?

cheers

Straight in.  Easier than trying to get the stock seat back into place too.  It was a Bride FD subframce though.

I think the seats and subframes are seperate items, so you get the frame for whatever car you need.
