Title: Hand brake light coming on when I floor it?
Post by: probedb on March 04, 2008, 12:39:12 PM
Hi folks,

Is the hand brake light on the dash used for anything else?

Reason I ask is that sometimes when I floor it now the handbrake light comes on....rather confused by that one.

Car has a PFC...

Cheers!

Paul.

If the fluid is down then chacnes are your pads are wearing a little thin, so check those too :)

if your fluids are low whats the best replacement, and can you mix new with old or is it best to flush the whole system?

aslong as it is the same dot rateing you can just top up, but if your not sure it would be best to flush & refill!!

Cheers folks....I have some new pads I bought a while ago as well, maybe I\'ll see about doing the pads and flush the system through while I\'m at it!

Might want to check the two rubber seals under the reservoir where it sits on the master cylinder too. Only taks a sec and I was losing fluid from those on my 92. Presume the heat from the turbo\'s shortens the life of them Cheap easy fix if thats the problem
