Just wanted to check as i know on my old babies scoobies only certain model were ok to use handbrake in motion unless you wanted to kill yer diff or sumin such like. So having started watching the drift bible etc for tips before having fun in the ole RX7 just wanted to check if using handbrake (with clutch depressed) was relatively risk free (other than totally loosing control of car:eek: lol)?
Cheers

To be honest, mine doesn\'t lock the rear wheels up, does yours? Is this common?
Mine doesnt even hold the car, as I found out leaving a mates house and having to go further down the hill I parked on to locate my car. I was lucky it stopped against another car!
I need to sort it really.
holy cr4p batman that sounds bad hadn\'t noticed but equally hadn\'t tried mine full on but just in case it\'s back to the studying of power drifting i go (http://smilies.jeeptalk.org/otn/ez/ezpi_wink1.gif)

Si (responsible careful driver erm dont quote me on that later thou.....lol)
so what kind of handbrake system does the RX7 use ie caliper or seperate drum kinda thing? Presumably it possible to adjust it back to bight properly thou as yours sounds liek it needs it Lee
Si
It uses a mechanism which operates the rear pads i think (hydraulic?). Previous cars with rear discs i have had (supra, 200sx) have had the internal drum within the disk affair, much better handbrake response!!!
this is one of the few things i know about... it moves a lever that pushed on the rear calipers. It can be sticky, like mine and not work too well. just take the wheel off and get things moving again. mine works well now:cool

Might be time to get my hands dirty again...
