Title: Any way of checking the wastegate?
Post by: interloper393 on February 25, 2008, 10:30:45 AM
As im thinking the wastegates maybe stuck open, is there any way of checking if it is without stripping the whole turbos off? i thought maybe wiggling the actuator? or what if i removed the c clip, would the wastegate flapper move?

any help would be simply wonderful :D

What I did mate was take the pipe off the actuator fitted a bike pump to the actuator & pumped it up....... just stand there pumping & watch it move!!

I think the actuator is set in the region of 7psi IIRC - so your compressor should hit that pretty quick! I\'d be careful or you run the risk of splitting the actuator diaphragm
