Click on pictures to enlarge.
Will get piccies up of 79 rex once ive down a bit more work on it.
Cheers..:wave
MINT! :eek: :god
Hehe,not quite,it needs a new elec ariel!
Cheers:wave
very nice and tidy, ive had 5 gen 1\'s and never had a electric ariel work yet!!
i plated the hole up on my current one and put a bee sting one on the roof ;)
Mark
looks very clean :) my leccy ariel works :D
Lovely example. I\'m in the same boat with the ariel. Looks like a really nasty job to do too. Got a DAB Ariel in the front window.
Look forward to seeing it in the flesh :D
Shaun
where does your rev counter needle sit when the engines not running?
silly question i know but i want to check mine as it has been pulled apart a couple of times (going to check it when the car goes in for a tune up so as longs as im close!!)
thanks
Mark
Havent a clue,i\'ll check for you on sunday
Ta:wiggle
@Mark
Engine off,rev needle on zero
Ignition on,but engine off,rev needle on zero.
@ shaunwill,
Ariel on 79 rex works perfect,but theres an aftermarket manual ariel on 85 rex.
I think you have to take the light cluster out to get at it,looks like lots of swearing & skin off knuckles job!
Ta...:Laugh
@smokeygsi,
Dont suppose you wanna swap your leccy ariel for my manual one & take the strain off your rex\'s battery?
Think of your alternator & the wiring loom frying by using your ariel?
Really,its a generous offer,think about it!:Laugh

Thanks i thought it should sit a 0 maybe my idles a little low:D
yes the easiest way to change the ariel is to take the light cluster out then you have a top nut and three inside the car from memory its not to big a job its finding a ariel thats the problem!!
Mark
Great stuff Stuart.
Looks like the handbrake wants a tweak up from inside the lever cover. Do you know how to do it, it\'s easy?
And why isn\'t the rear ashtray fully shut??!!
@mark
I think Mazdatrix sell the correct ariels.
@David
Sarcasm about the rear ashtray!Ive closed it now!
Is the handbrake lever too high?I wouldnt know,it works fine on a steep drive.
I must get more of a life,today i started cleaning the underside of the car,so its red & not mucky black!
Windows getting slow,sprayed silicone spray down the runners,they wizz up & down now!
I\'m looking into getting the wheels refurbed,so will let you know costs of this.
Ta....:Laugh
yeh, the handbrake should have 4 or 5 clicks on the rachet for the MOT man. Yours looks a bit higher.
To adjust there\'s a single small phillips screw across the handbrake cover inside the car, which holds the cover on. Remove the screw, drop it between the seats so you can\'t retrieve it, struggle with the cover which does just clip together believe it or not, then there\'s a simple large cross screwdriver adjuster on the end of the cable.
Glad the ash tray\'s sorted.
That does seem like a genrous offer!!!!! but my Rx is tucked up in the garage and i would want to disturb her to remove the ariel for you :( ;)
:Giggle
@David,will do handbrake,but i\'m exhausted after the major job of closing the rear ashtray.:Giggle
@smokeygsi
Best leave your rex in hibernation whilst its cold,but when she stirs in the spring & the battery is flat whipping off that energy sapping leccy ariel will revive her.:evillaugh
