Title: Doomed!!!
Post by: Squealy on March 02, 2004, 02:38:41 AM
Umm. Gurgly noises? Much as I hate to say this.  Gurgly noise from the engine after driving means water seals have gone. Correct me if I\'m wrong.  For the love of God let me be wrong!!!! Please!!!!:(

Its a very faint gurgle.  Can only hear it if in quiet area with no traffic noise.  Sounds like shes boiling but temp gauge is only mid way up.

Andy, please try to take it easy on me mate.  Don\'t destroy me completely Mr Doom & Gloom!!!

Cheers
Neil

Neil, check your coolant levels, inc. the ast tank. That is where the gurgling is coming from.

If you\'re not loosing water, not over heating, have no big white clouds of smoke coming out of your exhaust, and have no loss in performance then I wouldn\'t worry about it.

If all of the above is ok and you\'re still worried then take it for a compression check or will a compression check not necessarily detect brocken water seals??? Hmmm i guess it wouldn\'t if it had gone from either water jacket into oil jacket (oil in water and vice versa) or water jacket to the outside(steam/drips coming off engine), but a compression check should detect if gone into the rotor chamber.

Anyway don\'t worry too much until you are 100% sure,

Paul:)
