Hi Guys,
Im looking at the possiblilty of replacing the heat exchanger with a something a little less... bulky...
its just so big! and im after a bit more room to work with
(http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r240/lowdowndirtyzook/RX.jpg)
would making a tubular manifold up cause any power drain or any other adverse effects?
Thanks for any advice!
Andy
hey bud :) do u mean the heatsheild surrounding the turbos? i was wondering if the high temp paint would work? if you applyed like 20 coats of it lol..
nah, i mean the exhaust manifold/heat exchanger under the heat sheild in that photo...
im looking at changing it for a tubular manifold thats dimensionally smaller so i have more room to work with...
i should be able to make up a manifold without too much trouble with the help from a friend.. im just wondering if its going to cause problems down the line when i finally get it running again....
Cheers,
Andy
Is this engine on a FB/SA22 RX7 or an FC RX7?
Bit more details on what car you have
sorry, my bad :Hammer
is a n/a 13B fc motor
if im honest, its out of my friends car... he wrote it off a couple of months ago, but never declared it to the insurance, and since the engine was sweet and a shame to waste, he let me have it to put in a project kit car of mine... hence why i need the space at the manifold side of the engine.....
Cheers,
Andy
ahhh in that case if its going into a kit car junk the heat exchanger and get a tubular exhaust manifold made up, you will gain power
awesome! just what i was hoping to hear! :Thumbs-up
thanks a lot!
Yep, 2 into 1 system will give you the best power - most of the big names in rotary parts will have them off the shelf :yes
