Post by: dthebuk on February 19, 2008, 03:27:13 PM
just seen an ad for an egi with 4k miles on it (my mates looking to buy)

Ive heard that there are likely to be problems with low milage cars but will this car have any problems engine wise?

cheers

Surely this is on a rebuilt engine? As long as it has been run in correctly it should be ok. Obviously there is the usual checks for any car. Pannel alighnment, rust, oil leaks, water leaks etc. Check all the electric windows, heater, lights etc all work too. And always check the vin nuber ties up with the cars V5.

well i assumed it was 4k on the chasis, but looking over the add it doesnt say anything about it?

if it is 4k on the chasis and engine it should be in pretty good condition?

if its ONLY got a genuine 4K on orig engine and chassis - then its prob worth £5k aswell - so if its not that sort of money - start asking questions :D

An EGI with only 4k on the clock would be worth a great deal more than £5k (Assuming the condition of the car reflects the recorded mileage)

Do you have acopy of the advert handy?

The car if original is only just run in!!!  I hope for the rotary community that it is at that mileage but I doubt it somehow.  Sometimes for a 20 year old car to have only 4K is not good unless it has been dry stored.  Be a bargain if it is genuine though and I agree with brett on the value.
