Title: What am i looking to pay for new wheels??
Post by: neil_jdmr on February 16, 2008, 10:50:44 AM
Been on the look-out for a while now as the volk cv pro i have at the moment are an old school wheel to say the least and would like a summer set of wheels. Only problem is im finding it really hard to get a set of 17" wheels the right size for the fd. My current wheels are 9.5 rears and 8.5 fronts but everyone i talk to wants to sell me 18"s.

It now seems that buying 18\'s is gonna be cheaper than the 17\'s just because of the width.

I really wanted to stick with 17\'s as 1) im not really a big shiny bling wheel sorta guy and 2) it just sits right on 17\'s imo and 3) Ive got a set of bridgestone grids with plenty of tread left on the front and would only have to replace the rear

I do believe the 18\'s would grow on me as long as i got the right set.

But anyway what do people pay for a new set of wheels that correctly fit a FD

Bit of a \'how long is a piece of string\' question really - without tyres, You\'d be looking at £500ish for a good quality set that don\'t weigh as much as the moon to, well, whatever you can afford!
Rota make some nicew budget wheels :)

18" are ok only if you can get them lightweight or you\'d be better off with 17\'s all boils down to money.
