Title: Single turbo conversion
Post by: Dele on February 11, 2008, 03:27:18 PM
Is there a guide on how to do this?

Basically ive been offered a cheap manifold and turbo, but i didnt know what else needs uprating or what else is needed

If its not going to be that cheap then i\'ll just skip it, but if it is then ill take it and get on with it

I imagine its something like this, but bare in mind im useless with a spanner so i might of missed something major or some parts that arent needed:

Manifold (got)
Turbo (got)
Oil lines
Custom intercooler tubing
Loop some water lines
Fuel pump and secondary injectors uprating
Custom ECU and mapping

Wastegate,
blow off valve,
Boost Controller,
uprated radiator,
higher temp plugs,
stronger diff (depends on turbo size)
Gearbox and Diff Braces

What type of turbo is it ? This has been covered many times and the search button is your friend.

Probably better off searching Rx7club. Not sure that many people have used that turbo. Doesn\'t mean its bad though

Turbo looks pretty small to me.. So I would guess it\'s a baby one? But that is only a guess..

sounds like a bargain...td07s are bigger than td06s......properly tuned you should see around the 400 rwhp with sufficient boost and porting...say 1.2bar and big street port.

yeah i did, he said it has none,

story was that it came with his RX7 and was sold to him by an RX7 specialist so that gives me some hope that its not the ****y small one because i dont see why a specialist would do that

But this is ebay, and all that could mean bugger all :2Confused
