Building a custom Titanium system for my track car, does anywhere know where to buy universal Titanium silencers?
Just looked around, does anyone know how restrictive these bike cans are?

the only one I could find was the Magnex titianium bike silencer, but it is only 2.25" internal diameter
Well I thought about using 2 bike silencers to get the requiered flow. Not sure on the silencing ability though?
I\'m guessing the rest of the system is titanium? Otherwise could you not just put up with the few extra kgs and get a decent free flowing SS silencer box?
have a read through here

are you just using titanium from the midpipe back or full system turbo back ? as titanium doesnt like heat and becomes very soft. i wouldnt recommend a full system.
On my plant at work some of the process line is titanium. we are not aloud to use titanium on any part of the plant that exceeds 300 degrees centigade as it becomes extremely soft around these temperatures.

I\'ve had three titanium silencers on various bikes, and the noise output seemed to be as dependant on the bike as much as on the silencer. I had a Blue Flame one on a 600cc Yamaha FZR-R that was deafeningly loud, but an Akrapovic on a 330cc larger Fireblade was loads quieter, despite having more or less the same bore and length. With that said, an Akrapovic on a 750cc YZF was louder again than the Fireblade, and was the same make of silencer, so I can only guess that the noise level is based on all kinds of factors including engine characteristics, especially since YZFs have a barrel valve EXUP in the exhaust that tunes the length and tends to make them a bit quieter than other models.
All bike cans in my experience tend to be a lot smaller bore than the typical RX exhaust, so I reckon you would need a couple to shift the volume of gas needed, as you said. In think the quality of construction has an effect, as well. Akrapovic are about the best bike cans you can get, Blue Flame were at the cheaper end of the market, and their can was noticeably a bit more resonant and rattly, for want of a better term. I think titanium tends to be a bit more resonant than other types anyway, in my experience, certainly carbon fibre or stainless cans I\'ve had seem more absorbtive of noise than the Ti equivalent.
I know it\'s very subjective, but hope that helps. I can\'t see it being too cheap an option, is the only thing, if you do need two cans...
The Demon Tweeks website has a fairly broad range of types for bikes, from 500 quid plus Yoshimura to the cheaper more universal sort. Probably a good place to do research into price. Busters Accessories are a very helpful bike parts mail order firm, too, good range and prices.
