Im very worried....
When accelerating hard, there semms a time between 3k and 4k revs when the car stops pulling, even looks like the revs drop a little before continuing upwards.
Now im scared this means internal problems/rebuild/loan etc....
what could this be? does it sound like a roror tip problem???
Dean.
no sounds more like a vac hose / boost leak somewhere.. I\'ll let the experts answer! don\'t panic matey :)
Couldnt this just be the gap between the turbos? Although if the revs drop then it wouldnt be this.
A ton of things can cause this.
I once had a similar symptom. The car would pull hard below 4,000 rpm and hard above 4,500 rpm but in between at transition it had serious power loss and would jerk and flutter a bit. Ended up being the apexi induction kut. Itlooks clean on the outside when I took them off they were absolutely filthy, like beyond cleaning filthy, so I replaced them and the car was perfect. But to be hones your better off just taking it to a garage because there are many cuases to that kind of problem.

Minty just had a quick look on the US forum, sounds something similar on there, and they reckoned fouled spark plugs can cause this sometimes but as BNA_ELLIS said... best to take it somewhere and get it checked out as it could be a million and one things
I thought about it last night, and thought maybe it was a boost issue.
Im just up the road from Nemesis, but are they a rotary specialist? or would i be better off going to rotechnics/RE:worx?
Dean
Not dedicated rotary like rotechnics/etc but im sure they would be worth a try as there close, they definately work on rotary\'s and have a fair bit of knowledge. As people have said might just be something simple which they could easily pick up on.
UPDATE:
when i drive smoothly and slowly accelerate to the high revs, i have no problems, jusy smooth power.
When i plant the pedal to the floor i seem to get this hesitation. Could this possible be a quick slip of the clutch? Ive noticed it bites right at the top, and in previous cars this has been a sign of the end of its life.
Dean.
slipping clutch you would more notice revs going up then dropping as clutch bites but no speed increase with initial revs try it in a high gear from relatively low speed, doesn\'t sound liek a clutch IMO but then my opinion is pretty weak when it get technical (http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/ups/trixie/winksmile.gif)

Minty,
Do you have a boost gauge? What does it show?
Kevin
the gauge is suffering from a tapping noise when on boost, and it flutters a little. so it seems to go to just under 1bar, but its not very accurate.
