Title: What\'s the deal with AON?
Post by: SiH on February 01, 2008, 01:27:42 PM
Just spoken to someone on their new policies department, told me first of all that Adam Sivitar no longer works for them, and then secondly that they wouldn\'t be able to quote for anyone under the age of 30 on a modified RX7
Next step, flux. :(

Scratch that - rang a few other people then tried AON again - managed to speak to Marcus - top bloke, and knew what he was talking about - more than i could say for the other person there i spoke to!
3k mlrs a year on a 94 type R2 with breathing mods, carbon bits, and a power FC, 26 YO, £420 FC.
Good man :)

Did they say the FD had to be a second car?  I tried them last year and they told me that :( would be sooo much cheaper if I could get them to quote me on classic ins

Yeah, it is a second car policy :)

With the money saved you could buy a cheap daily driver and insure that ;) :D

That\'s what I\'m thinking - the reality would be that it would sit on the street/block the drive not doing anything and costing me tax (unless I can find a tax exempt car) - the rex is already only a weekend car so another car in the household would be a pain in the ass.  Will have to see what renewal is like (was £900 last year :2eek )

Someone in the know at AON needs to educate the rest of their staff. I ended up renewing with Sky Insurance as I was rejected twice by AON at renewal time.

I\'m with AON as a second car on a 5k a year policy as a classic car.  Got a fair few mods and running just over 300bhp and I\'m paying about £450.
Thats 26 with 4 years no claims.

29 YO, 2nd car with different insurer, classic policy fc @ 5k miles per year. FD3S with mild mods, declared as 300hp, garaged at Reading address. ~£500 inc EU recovery.

Bargain.

I think you\'ve just got to get Adam rather than anyone else.

Chris.

Does anyone know if being a named driver on another car could count as your other policy with them?

ive just phoned these guys and they wont quote me - anyone under 30 with modifications be it power or cosmetic they simply will not insure!!!

this sucks ass big time as looking at other people who are the same age as me and getting insured are like getting mega cheap prices.

Why cant we have a discount somewhere else where we can actually get a ****ing quote?!!!!!! i think its time the club did something about this its ****ing annoying.

A plan arnt very good either. Im 26 with four years no claims no accidents and no points. Ive had my rex 2 years now and that still no good.

Sounds like, like my first call, you spoke to the wrong person.
Ring again and speak to Marcus.

First person I spoke to was useless, and told me they couldn\'t insure me (26, second car, 7 years NCB) - the second (Marcus) was uber helpful and sorted me out no worries :)

The guy said that Marcus and Adam were working in different departments now. they wouldnt let me speak to either of them.

Im telling you something aint right!!! They said that they read the forum as well.   Im gonna pm the Admin later on and ask them to sort something out.
