Title: PFC Idle??
Post by: Grizzly on January 31, 2008, 09:50:59 PM
Just a quick question for those who know there Power fc\'s

Does the PFC control the idle? A mate of mine has fitted a single turbo kit himself and rang me to ask if i knew why he couldn\'t get his idle (cold) down from 1800rpm??

After chatting to him for a bit he told me he had fitted a full set of Block off plates (not exactly sure what he means by that), I\'ll go and have a look at it tomorrow night (tbh i\'m expecting some thing not fitted correctly) but i\'m not clued up on PFC\'s so if it is a problem there i don\'t fancy standing out side in the cold looking for problems when there aint any??

Yes the PFC does control the idle. Have a look HERE (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37534) for the manuals to download.

if he has fitted block off plates has he fiddled with the throttle body coolant? it could be the wax rod isn\'t being heated and hence removing the cold idle setting .

Cheers Fish, I was thinking a manual would be handy :)

I\'m just thinking there may be a Emitions issue? I remember while back when i fitted my T04r kit to my T2 i had a problem getting my idle down when i removed the cold start gismo\'s. I\'m just wondering if his done the same thing???  I\'ll check exactly what he\'s taken off. What can i say Kids that think they know what there doing.....

I\'ve only talked to him on the phone but as far as i can tell hes removed all the emitions on the lower inlet, he said the pipe is off the thing on the side of the throttles too?? So i\'m guessing thats the Secondary throttles??

Relocate the jiggle pin and disinguage the ISC control allowing the double throttle to directly interact with the wind related motion sensors that control the exhaust overun underlap pre exhaust interaction.

Ok had a quick look today and he\'s removed all the Emition stuff from the lower inlet and fitted Blanking plate (which are well sealed)

I noticed the Vac pipe is off the solenoid on the side of the Throttles too and he said its had the rad out, so it may not be bled properly.

Anyway i couldn\'t get a good look at it as it was going dark but i\'ll go round in the morning and we\'ll see what transpires.
