Title: Which clutch to buy
Post by: XMN on January 31, 2008, 09:55:48 AM
Hi people,

clutch is starting to slip so I thought I would ask for some advice. I upgrade the HP to 350 so want a clutch that can handle the extra 100 or so horses but still be a nice clutch to use

Any ideas/experiences

Thanks in advance

We have a range of clutchs to look at
Slightly uprated from stock, good price. Quiet often the ADL clutches are Exedy inside the box.

That picture seems to show a paddle?
I\'ve always been lead to beleive that, where possible, don\'t go paddle unless you really need to. My experience has always been that they have a educed lifespan over a similar uprated organic type clutch.

Si

If required we can supply for the same price, the uprated Exedy organic centre plate instead of the ceramic-metallic  centre plate.

Please note that this clutch has an uprated pressure plate and whilst it looks like a standard Exedy pressure plate or ADL pressure plate, this pressure plate has more clamping effort to stop the clutch from slipping despite the increasing power.

Also with either centre plate, the car will drive very close to standard.

Hope this information is of some help.

I recently ordered my clutch from these guys: http://www.turboimport.com/catalog/rx7.htm (http://www.turboimport.com/catalog/rx7.htm)
I ordered the act ZX3-HDMM as it is good up to 402 torques! Postage cost to the Uk was $115.95 so in total it was $600.95 or in real money about £300 and it includes the release bearing, allignment tool (which i\'ve been told you dont need anyway,) and the pilot bearing.
