a couple of kilo\'s at the most, it\'s a horrible job taking it off, spent many hours with a scraper, screwdriver, hot air gun, thinners etc. cleaning floorpans ready for welding in roll cages. road noise and "feel" of the floor is certainly different after you take it all off. If you aren\'t fitting roll cage don\'t bother, there must be a hundred other things you can do to loose the same amount of weight elsewhere.

If you have quite a loud exhaust then leave it in trust me, makes the sound in the cabin vibrate something daft and you\'ll need ear plugs to then drive it :Nono!

Although my FD did have a stupidly loud exhaust which did not help much

surely saving up and buying things like carbon doors and boot lid would be a good weight save, plus lexan windows, the glass must weigh alot.  I bet you the stock doors are very heavy.

Speak to Jon (AtomicRex) he has a very stripped out very light rx7 so knows what is worth doing to save weight, i know he has ALOT of carbon on his car

id like to go the carbon root but is way to expensive for me :S.. just looking at what i cn ditch, sound proofings coming out anywho.. the fact that the lexan glass scratches easily puts me off it.

As Mike says, its a pretty tedious job - freezing it helps :)

Dunno about weight, couple of kg sounds about right I guess.

As for noise, yes its loud. Add solid diff mounts and a dog box and its pretty nasty :D Worst thing is road debris - any thing bigger than a small pebble hitting the chassis at speed can be like a gun going off!

The doors are heavy, about 25kg each, then the dash is another 20-25kg, i reckon you\'ll loose the weight of a mate if you took just those 3 things off. Just wear your seatbelt and don\'t go out in the rain

doors are key for side impact, if you don\'t have a roll cage with proper door bars don\'t mess with them, they may save your life in a side impact. Some insurers are very funny about composite panels that replace crumple zone and impact resistant parts. (or at least they used to be!)
