Purchased this little beauty off ebay last week, and what can a say.. its a complete shed..... and i love it :cool

Its been previously owned by captain kirk, completing 150000 miles

Heres a few pics off the ebay add.

Got her home and got it mot\'d on the monday, needed a whole brake light bulb. But got advisories on corrosion on the underside which i need to sort asap.

Decided that i cant be bothered with a full restoration type project, so its going to go a kind of rat look way, but not so ratty if that make sense.

Out came a roller and blackboard paint, and the t-cut. i also removed the rear wiper as the wiring to it was shocking, plus the weight of the motor made it impossible to keep the boot open

Also fixed the drivers electric window which didnt open or close properly, nothing a little wd40 couldnt sort :cool

anyways, pics from today..

nice looks like it cleaned up well!!
like the rear spaxs not seen many of them.
the switchs are usually the problem for the windows like you say pull them apart clean the contacts bit of wd and there are sorted, as for the rear window that can be sorted, if you go through my post (in my signiture) im sure i posted details about getting the rear struts regassed, if not drop me a line and i will find the place i used:Thumbsup!

Cheers Mark, The window fault with mine was the runner and the actual hlaf moon gear mech being siezed. think i have the same problem with the drivers side light, you have to wait about a minuite for the bloody thing to go down! lol. As for the boot struts, one has actually fallen apart, this one has seen better days, but i will see what i can do with her!

By the way, does anyone know the center bore size of the wheels?

Hi there, welcome to the 1st generation section. Quiet as little mice we are on here, not like the FD lot.
I was off to measure the centre of my spare wheel - then wondered if that\'s what you meant. You\'ll have a spare I presume, so do you mean the PCD - pitch circle diam?
If you search under struts you\'ll find various posts. I have 1 new one from USA that I could let go. 1 is enough to support the hatch with wiper attached.

Always interested in piccies of the underside, particularly corrosion spots and how to repair, \'cos we\'ll all end up there sooner or later.

Hi dave, im aware the pcd is 4x114.3 and the offset is 40mm, however it would appear wheel options are scarce however hyundia, kia, some honda\'s etc share the same pcd and offset, but the center bore sizes vary greatly and i would rather buy a set of wheels with a bore size that is too small and have them machined out than have a set of spiggot rings made up.

The car should be going to have the rust checked out next weekend, i will ask my friend to take plenty of pics :)

Now i have removed the wiper the boot stays open fine so i think i shall leave it be, but cheers for the offer :)

Just bend the struts a bit & they hold the boot up just fine, you don\'t need all that fancy re-gassing malarky, just pull em towards you a bit in the middle of the strut.
