Hi there,
I have a knightsports EBS4 in my car and plan to remove it this afternoon in preparation for an FC, however I am still in 2 minds given its a pretty cool feature but the pfc really outweighs keeping it!
does anyone know if its the same basic set up compared to the EBS3?
i did look at the installation at the following link:
http://www.clubrx.org/default.asp?id=5&ACT=5&content=17&mnu=5 (http://www.clubrx.org/default.asp?id=5&ACT=5&content=17&mnu=5)
just want to be prepared, i figured i would remove it at the same time as taking the horrid mot neccessary mph glowing dial and fitting my oem fog switch to replace the, again, mot passing duralite switch.
hopefully i dont make a total balls of the operation
just an update incase anyone wants/can help
ive removed part of the dash and in the process of tracing wires and the EBS4 control unit was fitted under the carpet in the passenger footwell, which is a bit damp (had heavy rain here and i use the car daily)
im wondering if some of my boost problems i posted about before may have been caused by the damp? since the ebs4 is connected between the ecu and the wiring to the car?
i have plenty of pics to post of the dial removal and the removal of the bodykit also
hope someone can help??
I had problem in the previous car with little water getting into the ecu before and has made the car stutter on boost..
Took it to a tuner and they used hair dryer to blow the unit dry and has worked perfect since...
thats what im hoping mate, i have it above the carpet now and had the hairdryer on it for a bit, going to let it sit there while i trace out the wiring for it. what boost problems were you getting? was the turbos spooling up ok? or was it just less boost than normal?

The turbo was spooling ok but it was just stuttering and will not boost smoothly. Any chance your boost controller might be damage?? can try run it without the boost controller and see if you get the stock boost ok, I think you should be able to still get 0.5 at least without any issues.
Hey,
Did you see my post about the spoiler and skirts you are selling, can you send me an email to sort out the payment and that... CAnt see the post anymore...:o
im not sure what is wrong with it, when i pulled the carpet back i found that the main \'brain box\' was connected to the ecu and there was a fuel cut defender and another box, which i dont remember what it was - id have to go look again. im going to let it dry out properly then see what happens, my turbos seem to cut off bang on 0.00kg/cm so it could be the fuel cut kicking in for some reason, but im tracing all the wires for damage but its time consuming - had the dash out today and my fingers are raw lol!
i didnt see your post mate sorry, i emailed admin and it was moved as i posted in the wrong place (oops) so its now sitting in the members only forum for a week then anyone can view it. did you see the prices etc? if you are interested i can be emailed at johnfella00@yahoo.com (johnfella00@yahoo.com)
Yeah jsut let it dry out properly and see what happens....... cutting out at 0.00kg/cm doesnt seems to be the boost controller. More to the ecu and like you said fuel cut........
I knwo what you mean about the dash, it took me a whole day and few drips of blood to rip it out...
Yeah I saw the price and I said I will take the spoiler and side skirts like I said I will. You have email....
