I really do think you get what you pay for with suspension.
I had some coilovers which were exactly the same as D2\'s, but rebranded as someone elses, and they were pretty bad to be honest. The rears rattled due to appalling tolerances on the rear top mount bushes, and the damping was pretty poor. Very badly valved.
A friend had some Apexi EX-V\'s (I think that were harder rates than the budget ones i had, but blew them out of the water due to the sheerquality of the damping circuit. Some Ohlins i have experienced were a step up again - absolutely awesome,

I then ran Teins on mine, and even though they were no Ohlins, they were such a leap up over the budget ones.. I certainly won\'t be skimping on suspnsion for the FD

I\'ve also heard lots of very dubious report on D2 build quality.

Lots of people seem to be looking at these recently. I think  you\'ll find with the budget dampers like the D2\'s, G Force and even the Super street Teins is they designed to be a cheap entry level damper for people who want to lower their cars with a small amount of damper ajustment.

If thats all you want then consider a budget damper. If you want to go on track or your thinking of running decent power through the chassis then invest in a more focused set of dampers.

Obviously the other big thing is your budget.

Actually D2s are very good.
They are not a \'budget\' coilover as you are suggesting.
I know people that have had them on skylines, supras and rx7s and to be honest they havent had any complaints.
Each to their own i suppose, it depends on what you have been told.
But i havent seen any problems with D2 coilovers.

A friend of mine has a set of G-Force on his evo 6 TME and i cant fault them at all, hes on stock power and normal goes past everything on track days (the AP\'s help tho).
It took us ages to setup them up to how he liked them and after a few month he had to send the rears back due to leaking, then they have been fine for over a year now.

Have G force on my FD too. Very good IMO and handles absolutely fab! which obviously showed from the outside too as I had a couple of comments about how composed it looked at an activity day. Running 500+ hp as daily it was too, so very adjustable. I was a bit suprised when I found out what they were to be honest as they were on the car when I bought it.
