hi im new on here. owned my 89 white tII coupe for about a year now. been looking on here and decided i should sign up.
had many problems with mine since the day i bought it and its taken me over 6 months to sort it. i got it from a guy in blackburn. on the way home it began to missfire, after replacing the plugs and giving it a service i still couldnt solve the problem. after spending hours on the net looking at what it could be i was still no better off. then it started to flood every other day. after looking deeper into things i realised my turbo spindle was wobbly and there was oil being sucked up thrugh the intake.
i took the car off the road and got some money together to sort it. found a second hand turbo on sleazebay and got it reconditioned. it was sat for about a month and after giving it another full service and check over i tryed to start it. only to find it didnt want to. two apex seals on the rear rotor had gone. gutted. by this time my pockets were empty. then an engine came up on ebay. you will probs have known him. he broke the green one on ebay called john. so ive now got my engine in and planning on getting the old one rebuilt as a spare.
while its been off the road ive had a cat back done on it and done the block off plates and removed the air pump. recently got some veilside 2 piece staggered alloys. 16" front and 17" on the rear. also got a blitz dump valve, fcd and air filter for now. just bought an apexi afm to go on along with a rsm meter, g sensor and a apexi power meter but havent had time to fit them yet.
im having one last problem getting it running perfectly. it wont idle correctly. it wont idle when cold i have to keep my foot on the pedal a lil. then once warm it stays at about 2000rpm. i realy dont know wht to try. ive checked the tps and al seems to be well. any clues.
even through all the trouble ive had with it i kant help but love it to bits. i kant see me parting with it. will post some pics up when the wethers clear and can get out to it.

also does anyone have an ally turbo bonnet from a vert. thanks guys hope to see some of you at the next few shows etc. would be good to atlest see another fc. im a loner round here.:cool

Have u plugged coolant temp switch back in, and there are no pipes off anywhere ??

reali that close. i didnt realise. thats like 20mins down the road from my house. not even that. whens the next meet id love to come. even iff my car isnt up n running. my girlfriend has just got me tickets for japfest so ive gotta get it ready befor then. got tracktime too.
yeah the temp sensors in. it was unpluged at one point but the buzzer warned me lol. im gonna have another look tomorrow to see if i kan find owt.

glad you signed up to the forum, welcome. I\'ve been meaning to speak to you for some time(without realising it was you)! before you think I\'m crazy I\'ll explain :);
Along with a few other bits, I bought the T04E turbo off of John\'s green FC. Some time passed before I tried fitting the turbo, but when I went to fit it I realised I needed the spacer plate as the T4 compressor housing was crushed up against the block. However, he had already sold the engine to you.. now the question is.. Do you still have the spacer?!? :D
It\'s not really any use unless you are going for the same turbo hot/cold side set-up, but would save me maaaasssess of time!
sorry mate no i dont have it. the guy who i got to put the engine in for me threw all of the parts away apart from the bare block coz hes a useless tw@. i told hi i needed the engine back but he didnt listen n just kept the block n threw it all out. i needed the twin pully and block off plate kit from it but instead had to buy them seperatly. you could have had it mate.
