i crashed my rx :( its a write off, basically i can have my wheels or bonnet off the car before the insurance takes it away (long story)
But basically i want to know what kind of money id get for the bonnet or wheels, so i know what to take.

its a metal vented bonnet (unsure of make etc) obviously sprayed vintage red, theres no rush/dents etc, its great condition.
the wheels are mazdaspeed 747, they arent in mint condition, theres a few scuffs on the front right and rear back, so they would benefit from being refurbed if someone wanted them mint, but i always thought they looked greatas they were..
also if anyone is interested, whatever item is worth more will be sold within the next month..

I think neither item is particularly valuable. Probably easier to shift the wheels, but I\'m not sure by any stretch.

it was a lovely car, i loved it, had 2 nice years with it.. im not getting another rx though, just too lethal for me.

Sounds like a strange arrangement the insurers have given you? Is it worth letting them write it off and buy it back as salvage? Even if you don\'t want it to rebuild, it may be worth more to break it than you\'d pay the insurance to buy it back.
I did that with my last FD, isurers wanted 25% of the write-off value for me to buy it back, which was £1250. Unless it\'s utterly mashed to pieces, it\'s probably worth that in parts?
I agree the wheels are worth more than the bonnet, tho
find out where it\'s being stored and strip it, lol, the \'99 spec rear lights are worth 150 alone? and oh so easily taken off... :yes
yeah i thought long and hard about buying the car back as i could buy it back for 1000..
But doing the costing i worked out selling parts that are easy to sell are the wheels,bonnet and lights = about 700. but if i can say keep the wheels profit = only about 350 back..
Id then need to generate another 650 before i even break even, taking the engine out and selling it i might get 1000, so ill make 350 but ill have all the ball ache of borrowing a crane and spending atleast 3 weekends dismantling it ( i know theoretically i could have out within a day of stripping etc) but i know it wont go well, as many a weekend have i spent doing a 5 minute job that ends up taking a day.
I could then spend time selling panels and things but that always ends up being another pain in the arse, getting told someone wants something, them never turning up, you waiting in etc all for the sake of 30 quid a part etc..
And to be honest just looking at the wreck and thinking each time i see it that im glad i am unscaved i just want it out of my sight..
So i could probably generate maybe another 500-1000 but that would be after many hours/days stripping the thing, waiting for people to collect, advertising it on here/ebay etc.. and then getting the thing towed to a scrap yard, getting an official letter to show its been crushed as its a cat b etc etc..
Ive just decided on the wheels, get my cheque and let it be taken away..
once the car is picked up they\'ll be up for sale if anyone is interesed :) - they are very nice wheels, i couldnt find anything else i liked more anyway :D

man get yo\' a into g... it aint that long. Seriously, you\'ll spend a day, perhaps a weekend breaking that car, store the parts in your garage?
make a thread in the for sale section "breaking \'94 type r fd3s" or whatever it is... look how many views/replies all the breaking threads have!
selling stuff can easily fit around your free time but if that\'s your final decision that\'s cool :)
just that i need a few interior bits and \'99 spec rear lights LOL!

fil, i think this is because its still in the "submit parts for sale" which only the full members have access to, i think this moves over to the normal "for sale" section at some point.
one of the mirrors got smashed to pieces, so im obviously not selling those, but i have the bonnet still mate.

naa they wanted 1k for it and with the hassle for selling all the small parts i really couldnt be bothered .
so i just have the main bits - im selling the bonnet,wheels (the apexi has now gone) ash tray, rear strut brace, ash tray, pioneer amp and rear kenwood speakers (that screw right in)
£220 for the bonnet, no marks/scratches etc, best looking bonnet ive found that was vented and metal (not fiberglass) and fits perfect as you can see from the pics.. shame the car had to go :(((((
comes with bonnet pins as well if you want to use them (i used both the catch and had the pins in)

cool n cheers for the update ant - shame about the mirrors - I\'m sure more will come up - would just have been handy as already painted in my rx colour! #;o)
We\'ll see on the bonnet front - am thinking about it but not sure atm....
