Title: bush fitting advice
Post by: Adie Moore on January 16, 2008, 11:22:44 AM
i\'v purchased a set of powerflex rear bushes and am in the process of fitting them, actually i\'v not got very far! So i\'v removed the trailing arm fine and i\'m now on the track controll arm, this is where the problems start. I\'v removed the bolt nearest the wheel but the arm is still held in position by the pillow ball (?) bush. I\'m not replacing these so i dont want to knacker it and it looks like it will be the same problem for the upper arm, outter most bush ( also pillow ball?). How can i get these out?

cheers adie

Not sure what you mean but there is a bolt that runs through the pillowball bushes so if you remove it you can take the arms off.

ok i\'ll go and take some photos, first though i have another problem...as a continuation from my first problem, all the bushes have now been changed, and i\'v come to put the suspension back on the car. The control arm i had problems with getting off, i now canot get back on. It was tight in its location in the hub, hense my difficulty in removing. I can now see why it was tight, as the two bits of metal it goes between are slightly closer together than the length of the bush. I dont have any access to specilised (sp) tools so, what do you thunk?
