Title: FD3 Auto problem
Post by: A.NUDD on January 15, 2008, 09:40:12 PM
I have a 93 fd3 auto that has been garaged for about a year and a half due to babies being born. I am gonna have to sell it so I thought I would give it a bit of a run. The problem is it started first time and reversed out of the garage no problem but when I tried to give her a bit of a run the car started jumping and wouldnt pull. It felt like the clutch wasnt biting but just wondered if you guys had any ideas. If not can anyone point me to somewhere in yorkshire that I can take it to get looked at? Thanks

Obviously wont be the clutch as its an auto, but there is a water sensor the tells the ECU once its warmed up. If this fails it gives a very similar symptom, its telling the ecu its still cold, when warm so shoves more fuel in there. Thats the 1st thing Id get checked out.

Please do not drive the car any more until you have checked the fluid level in the gear box as it sounds like the Torque converter which is the the equivilent to the clutch on a manual car is not being fed enough oil to make the car drive properly,

Also have a look on the ground where the car was parked in the garage to see if there\'s oil on the ground from where it\'s been standing,

Hope this helps,
