Title: FD reg J84 CHE anyone know of it\'s history?
Post by: Thud on January 15, 2008, 10:00:25 AM
Hi Guys,
I\'m looking for a FD project car and one has come up for sale near to me. It is a Cat C due to vandal damage but looks repairable. The seller says they tried to start it but it would not fire. Sounds like flooding which means it could also need a rebuild.....

Before I go and get it compression checked, does anyone know anything about this cars history? Ideally I am tryingto find a previour owner to get some idea what state the engine is in. The link is below :

Cheers,
Stuart

i looked   at buying that myself. i was put off becuase it looked too good to be a cat c! the so called damaged wings and bonnet are not even noticable! i personally beleive the engibe is not running! If  at £1000 it was a runner its a steal. ......looking at the pics its minimal if no work. but if the engine is fu*ked its less viable!

I\'ve not been bidding yet - I expect the price is going to go up. If you need a car for parts this might be ideal. I\'m not so sure it is a good choice as a fixer upper -  when you can buy a running Fd for £3K these days, spending £1K for a non runner plus panel work and protentially a rebuild it doesn\'t really add up!
