well 90% of the kit is now on. engine and interior is done. just spray and install.took a little longer than expected just because the kit took 8 months to come from the states. however the fitting was very easy due to the quality of the kit. the wheels fit perfectly thanks to the tiens.

well they are 19" by 12". veilside dont make wheels any more but they sent me the exact spec needed for the car. 19 by 12 with a -30 offset. had the wheels hand made by i forge in america.
yeah she is nearly done. when i saw the film i wanted one. there was a bentley blue one for sale but i couldnt afford it so i decided to do one myself. works out as lot cheaper! and with all the spec i wanted.
colour will be piano key black in the re - cessed areas and pearl white frost in the raised areas

not 100% sure. it has a single T60 A/R 0.60. 4" straight through stainless exhaust off the turbo, 100mm external wastegate and screamer pipe, apexi power FC and commander , 850cc primary and secondaries, walbro fuel pump. HKS 4 core intercooler, all the hard pipes etc, greddy boost controller. HKS irridiums its a lot quicker then my old evo FQ330! lol

lol - yeah. i originally ordered the real corbeau ones. but they messed me about, then i saw these seats for half therprice... same shape and better subframes. so cancelled the order and bought these. they came in black and white! had them changed to black and cream! bit of a tight squeeze tho. yes i agree the dog symbol isnt good but saving £500 was worth it!
are cool so it came with subframes and just fitted the standerd rails? yeah i know i might still get some!

u git an amazing deal on the kit and wheels combined. so in a way i get the wheels for free. tyres were meant to be £400 each on the rears, but found a great part worn place. it sems that lambo marcialargos have the same sized tyre so... there is a great supply of nearly new tyres at £50 a corner!
ok mate i think i might get some then there defo worth the price! its the white leather a nice bright white or look more of a off white?
it was a bright white. If you dont like the look of the leather.... the entire cover easily comes off and yopu could just get them re - trimmed. stil work out viable!

kit fitted amazingly. all the holes were predrilled by veilside and it bolted into the stock FD holes. the perspex back windows needed bonding in and the door mirrirs were bolted and also bonded onj for added strength. also the back lights were bonded in too. but RGS motorsport commented on how good the kit was - they said \' it was the best made kit they had ever come accross)

well for those interested in RX7s not just childish behaviour (pigme) the car is in the spray shop. had a slight problem with the fans not kicking in. turned out to be a fuse / wireing. iv had an FD before so im used to this kind of issue lol.
should be done within a week. as soon as its done i wil post some pics up so you guys can see the end result!

While I don\'t doubt there are in fact fake kits out there, the likelyhood of one being available in the UK already is quite low as there are so few fortune kits over here to make the moulds from and even fewer people who want them! The problem here is that jamie_supra has posted a progress report which is interesting to those of us who like to follow projects. I personally don\'t like the fortune kit at all, but I have a lot of respect for anyone who wants to go to the effort of installing one as it is a LOT of work! Jamie has said repeatedly that it is not a fake kit and unless there is evidence to the contrary I don\'t see the point in just contradicting him. The point of this thread is that we can see how his project is progressing not so that people with an axe to grind can post negative comments about the person who owns the car. There is a difference between constructive criticism and abuse and I feel certain contributions to this thread fall into the latter.

I fully agree, the fortune kit does have presence but definately not my favourite, especially for that kind of money. Why anyone hasnt fitted the new feed kit is beyond me though, well apart from its massively expensive. :Tongue1

Much as I\'m not a huge fan of the Fortune kit it\'s certainly a striking piece of work and anyone working to put it together themselves - like any other project - should be commended.

as far as progress.......... its currently being painted. had to go over on monday and confirm what parts are to be black and what parts pearl white. I also had two different HOC pearls so had to decide on the tone.
will be over at the weekend to see the progress and take pics of those tags that pigme is obsessed with lol.
I accept that not everyone likes the fortune kit.... to be honest there are angles i dont like but when i saw it on the film i had to have one. i couldnt afford the price of the actual ones in the film and i was worried about a coule for sale in japan for around the 18 - 20k mark............ as the pictures were poor and i wasnt sure of the condition of the car / damage etc.
through shopping around i worked out i could build one at a reasonable cost - i personally would not have one if it was going to cost me what most are selling at.
as soon as its out the spray shop i will post pics up - also it has 2 mag features already sorted so.................. watch this space

I did try to get hold of the feed kit last year, but was told that feed would only sell it if they fitted it in japan, maybe thats changed now, looks nice though............

think it was £15k. still a few bit and pieces to do. the paint need hand polishing where the machine cant get to........... install need tweeking and the whole thing needs a good clean to get all the cutting compound off (it seems to have got everywhere!)

Know what you mean about cutting compound, it took ages to remove it from my shut lines after the respray and im sure its still in the hard to reach places!

it was a different place i got mine from but those seem very similar. you will need subframes. the people selling those seats will prob have some subframes for sale.

Where did you get yours from? Did the company provide the sub frames?
Does the top of the seat ( left and right ) obstruct any vision?
I send the seller an e-mail to his shop address re fittment and I have had no reply...

yes the company supplied the subframes for a small extra charge. i cant find the receipt of where they came from unfortunately or i would post it up.
as for vision..... actually they are a good design - as the holes allow good vision for overtaking etc. the only slight issue is its a very very tight fit and the seats just touch the door cards.

looks good mate! whats the pull like with the turbo tho and what bhp are you running if you have not already stated? shame you are selling!
up to 3500 revs the pull is sluggish as expected. at 3500 you start to hear a ssswwww sound then at 4500 you get an almighty kick in the back end. power is smooth and strong right up until redline!
havnt had it rolling roaded as the kit is too extreme to get it on the rollers
are ok mate cool! like i said befor someone i know has had one of them turbo\'s off ebay and he said it was mint and well worth the money think he was running at 405whp! shame you carnt get it on the rollers like!

yeah its for sale. and the way that its shot up on ebay and the amount of offers / watchers its had / got its likely to sell.
i love the car and i love the attention. Never known a car get this much but.......... i hate to say it but its now too impractical. I cant enjoy driving it any more! when it was stock and a little battered i could have some fun. Now i worry about kerbs, speed bumps, even pot holes. Needs to go to someone who lives in an area with better roads lol
how how much of the work did you do yourself or have you just paid someone to do it for you?
did some myself and paid other people to do other bits. for example i stripped the pannels off the car / prefitted the kit. then paid a company to make sure the fit was spot on. changed the interior colour myslef and moulded the pillar pod into the drivers pillar. paid some one to spray the car.
basically anything that i was comfortable with i did.. and where i didnt feel i was up to the job i paid different companies to do the work.
