Title: front wing vents
Post by: japjim on January 12, 2008, 11:39:50 AM
how easy/hard is it to remove/re-fit the vents in the front wings.

the little grill bit has come away from the vent itself and wanted to repair it.

think you have to remove the wheel, inner arch liner and then you will be able to get at the back of it. They easily break and sometimes its easier to just glue them in.

I had the same issue. You can re-clue while the vents are still in the car (they look like a pain to remove the whole unit). Just remove the front theel, undo the clips holng the wheel arch liner in place (at the rear of the arch) and you have access to the back of the vents. I re-glued mine in about 15 minutes 2 months ago and they\'re still in place.

I repaired my in situe without removing the wheel liner.

1. Hook a piece of Mig welding wire through the vent mesh to allow you to keep control of it.
2. Apply a liberal application of silicone mastic to the fixing points.
3. Pull it in to place using the wire.
4. Once you\'re happy with the positioning tie it to a spoke of the wheel and wait 2 hours.
5. Remove the wire and all done.
